oh man me too... awful really. so bad I gave up doing BB hack squats. Now i do the machine ones. I know free weights are generally better... but bb hack squats also weakened my grip for the rest of my workout, and because i couldnt get the form down i decided to drop it in favor of machine hack squats. You should also be doing normal squats, if you arent already.
also... it would be more helpful if you were more descriptive in your thread subject line. something like "any alternative to hack squats?". Just my opinion. I dont really like clicking on a link that I am unsure of the contents of. Sorry Ill stop myself before I start ranting. Just my $0.02 at 2:00 a.m.... i really need some sleep
any other opinions
they're not really necessary if you're squatting, DLing, and lunging enough
yea ill second what unshift said... is there any reason you want an alternative to hack squats? are you following a routine that calls for them? if so, machine hack squats. if not, drop it, i guess?
If it doesn't feel right drop it. This isn't a "core" exercise per say and you can fatigue your legs in a 1000 more diabolical and evile ways. Legs are the easiest body part to come up with routines to kill you.

i was doing wbb#1, that's why i was doing hack squats.
im doing a modified wbb#1, and instead of hack squats, i do leg presses to the chest. Just another excercise to hit the quads i guess
