The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Dunno whether to laugh or cry.

    More job troubles.

Our mail server died, as some of you know... and the boss's son wants a "full scale decryption effort" (Insert witty M:I-2 music here). He says to me today, since Microsoft will not do it he is trusting me with this most precious information, and hopes I will be able to decrypt and recover the e-mail in which he has accumulated over the past 5 years! In a way I'm flattered he thinks I can pull this off - In the other hand I think he's an utter moron for even wasting time on this when none of it affects his work - LOL.

Let's not forget to mention, this is all spread out over about 150 different files, ranging from 100kb to 1gb.

So should I make a run for it yet? I already know it's physically impossible for me to do. I don't know enough about the structure of MS Exchange's storage. So I'll wait about three weeks, and sadly report to the Cap, "There's no way to save it, 'Keptin. S'gone. I did all I could."

    wait a second......

y'all don't have server mailbox limits?? is he talking about his personal folder mail? don' tell me y'all let him keep 5 years of mail on the damn server.....what about backups? where's your last exchange server backup?

since the box is down already...can't you just restore from that?

if he is in fact talking about his pst, then you can try Norton Recovery, but i'll say about 65% of what you recover is going to e garbled crap.

    - IT Manager never put a tape backup in the Exchange machine.

    - It's the boss's son, he can have as much mail as he wants. (We don't get a say.)

    - I pulled the old Exchange archives off the corrupted HD, but that was all I could get. Problem with this guy is that he didn't want to store it on his local "Personal Folders", all the info was on the Exchange Server mailbox, so it was not in .pst format. His fault, right? Sure is. My job to save his ass. lmao.

you know what...let him know that when he saves his mail tot he server, anyone with access can read through it. so if he wants to maintain privacy, and also maintain his chances of data recovery he might want to save it to his hardrive or server space form now on. Some place where only he has access..*wink wink nudge nudge*

as for your IT manager....and not backing up the exchange servers..... his admin privileges should be revoked. what an a$$wipe.

and y'all are the Admins...what you say goes, or you hold their data hostage. or **** it up. easy as that.

well if you ever saw the Breakfast Club.....

the Janitor in that movies best line was as follows: "I am the eyes and ears of this institution." :evillaugh

i would make your jacka$$ boss look right incompetent for this crap. We've had admins fired here for letting exchange outages happen. 2 in in the past year and half.
