The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Shoulder joint hurts everytime!!!!!auh

Whether i'm lifting or stretching or pulling my right arm, my anterior shoulder joint( deltoid anterior) hurts a lot. I noticed it 3 weeks ago but didn't bother me as much 'til I started lateral raise dumbbell. What can I do? Maybe my lifting posture are not correct. I read somewhere that this joint is called rotary cuff??(maybe spelled wrong). It is the joint between the deltoid anterior and pectoralis major. It also hurts when I am doing incline bench press actually this worsen the pain that I had to stop.

Another unrelated question is about rotary torso machine. Does this works the obliques? People in my gym rushes to this machine but I prefer incline twisting sit-ups.

    thanks a million

i got the same problem. mine's been around for almost 3 years now..got worse when i started lifting particularly, yes, lateral raises. right now the pain is definitely manageable (but still present) since i stopped for a bit.

concerning inclines..i switched to dumbells since this seems to allow more freedom of motion. u can try that. if u feel too much pain, u better stop for a bit...unfortunately, at one time i didnt do that and it started to affect my other push exercises as well.

start light with the lat raises --a comfortable weight. i've noticed much less pain when slowly lowering the weight...anyway, u might wanna try that. just my $0.02

my delts were aching a couple of months back also. i just stopped doing any direct delt excercises for two weeks. now it is all better. i was told that it happens to alot of people who first start out because the joint isnt used to the increased amount of stress put upon it.
