    My first comp results.

My university held a bench press comp and it attracted a large crowd and some decent lifters. They held it outside the gym and there was a decent crowd which added to the nerves.

Edit: Nobody wore a bench shirt, i was wearing jeans and a button up collared shirt!!!

*Measurements converted from KG to LBS.

The weight class i was placed in was 156-176

    Bodyweight 163lbs.

    Bench 1: 235 - Easy.

Bench 2: 270 - I didnt like my form but it passed anyway.

Bench 3: 280 - Nailed it. form impeccable. Big cheers from
the crowd most of whom hadn't seen any "heavy" lifting before.

Incidentally I beat everyone in the weight class below, and the weight class above.

It wasn't until the 220lbs class came out that people started benching above 280lbs. So i came 2nd in the overall competition to a 210lbs powerlifter with a 700 squat, 650 dead and a claimed 420 bench. On the day he got 352 and missed 375.

It was good fun and a decent way to start into competition.

Picking the numbers is the key to winning. Everyone in my weight class kept trying to be "the man" and bench 10, 20, even 30lbs above what they could bench to look like a hero.

The dude who was my main competition weighed 175lbs, hit 265 so i hit 270, then he came out and tried 290lbs, didnt even touch his chest and thought he beat me, called foul lift. So I hit 280. He attempted 290 again and put in a good effort but never looked like getting it seriously.

    Top fun!!!

    good work ya bluey bludga!

280 is brilliant for for a 163lb'er, especially in jeans and a shirt!

People wonder why I call myself Mr. T. One dude asked, 'does the T stand for tough?' I said no. Another dude asked if the T stands for my last name, Tureaud. No it does not. The 'T' in Mr. T stands for tuna. T loves tuna.
