Problem: Non-continuous sleep
Due to a special work schedule, I've not been able to get continuous sleep for 6 or more hours for the past 6 months. I've been going to bed at 3am, and sleep for about 4 hours. Get up and take my kid to school. Then, I would stay awake for about 90 min and go back to sleep for about another 3 hours.
I do end up with about 7 hours of sleep total. However, there's a 90 min gap between them. Do you think this type of sleeping pattern would cause any health issue in the long run?
As far as training goes, it hasn't really affect my gain yet. I'm still making progress, except my body fat seems to be going up. It may have something to do with the fact that I do eat one meal during that 90min gap.
Anyway, has there been any reserach done on this?
It's not uncommun for people who work irregular hours to die about 5 years earlier than somebody else...but as far as bodybuilding goes your guess is as good as mine
