The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    got a little situation.

i have started to work out intensively over the last week.
Now, i notice myself to be kinda bulky (which I don't want).
I want more of the tone body like the models have yet cut.

So here i am doing 20reps 3 x sets of each exercise.
why am I getting bulky, plus I am on strict diet with low fat high meals.

I am not taking any supplements to burn fat such as Hydro oxycut, should i start???

advise needed before i become 2 big.

I am not even doing heavy weights yet....

Are you fat? Or muscular? Do you want more muscle? Or less fat? This should determine your diet, not your training. Gain muscle, eat about 500 more calories per day than you need to maintain your body weight. Lose fat eat about 500 calories less a day than you need to maintain your body weight. Either way, I recommend using heavy weights in the 6-10 rep range. Using high reps to tone is a myth.

Don't worry about getting too bulky with muscle. You really will love it. You can always starve yourself later for that "model" look.

How have you even noticed any change in 1 weeks time?
My brother and I were brutal. I once chased him around the house with a spoon that I put on the burner. I burned that little pricks leg. -sharkall2003

It seems to me you have inflation in your muscles from them being used (as opposed to cold) and now that you're working out, you are thinking that you're getting big, but unless you are very short, you aren't.

I could probably eat nonstop anything I want for a week (and I have done that) and not get or feel fat/big, so I am just going off of my experience.

do you already have muscles? or are you trying to form and tone at same time? yeah it would help to know how tall you are.

    LMAO.

If you've only been lifting "intense" for a week, you didn't gain anything that will make you noticably bigger. A "toned" body is all about diet.

well, it's not like i started to work out for the first time in my life.
I just started to work out and eat properly and now the top part looks a little bulky. I wouldn't say it's bulky, but going towards that direction...

Read some of the wbb routines for a better workout. Bulking is purely a function of diet. Getting "cut" is also purely a function of diet. Folks have gone round and round and round about working out a certain way to "bulk" versus "cut" and it just doesn't work that way.

You either diet on less calories than your body needs and thus make your muscles look more cut because there's less fat around them or you eat more and bulk thus more fat around the muscle and the definiton is not as noticable.

As alluded to, 20 reps x3 sets isn't doing much of anything for you except a cardio workout.
