The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

My BF% is pretty low too (like 8 I think) but I still dont have those killer abs with good defintion, when I flex you can see the middle 2 and upper 2 pretty good but lower 2 are so so. I do the WBB1 and do the abs like 2 or 3 days a week. Usually 3 sets of 15 reps of normal crunches, and 3 sets of 15 russian twists (they are pretty hard)

Guess I should work them harder?

And what do u guys mean with weighted crunches? Like normal crunches but with some weight on your chest?

I think its very likely you will overtrain on a split like that, I expect your lower back is taking a real hammering because its getting worked 4 times in 5 days because of the leg and back work.

3 days a week. Sometimes a fourth if I want to work in a speed day or concentrate on one muscle (i.e. shoulders).

6 days might work for you. How long have you been at it? Have you tried a 3-day routine? What are you doing specifically on each day, and what are your goals?

pretty much i want to gain strenght and defination.
my biggest problem is if I do one body part once a week then by the time I get back to it next week, i am so weak. I kinda need that muscle to be wake up. Don't know if this makes any sense.
If i could get good results with 3 day workout, even better for me cuz that would save me at least 6 hours in a week.

So do a full body workout three times per week or go upper/lower and alternate the workouts. Plenty of ways to train each muscle more ofthen than once a week without overtraining. there isn't a set number of work sets you have to perform do the amount that allows you to make consistent progress.

You should check out WBB routine 1 on the main page. A lot of people here have had success on it (myself included). Just go heavy and hard.

Remember that gaining muscle/losing fat is all about diet. There are tons of threads on how to eat, what to eat, when to eat. Also, look at some journals for an idea of what works for others.

"Definition" is not a function of lifting, it's a function of body fat. The lower your body fat, the more "definition" you'll have.

Hope this helps get you started

The only problem with that is you have no rest days. Try bunching things together a little more.

    what about the Professional bodybuilders.
for example: in Arnold Ency. of Body Building he shows working same muscle twice a week. I am just curious if to that is overtraining. I am not a professional nor do I want to be one cuz those guys are way too big.

    just want to know...

2-3 times a week is ideal I think. Your routine looks pretty hardcore btw, no days off in there except Sunday hehe.

I train 5 or 6 days a week. Looks something like this:
    Pull
    Push
    Legs

    Pull
    Push
    Legs

Insert rest days and cardio days as needed. I may work out 4 or 5 days straight before I take a rest day. I may take a rest day after 2 or 3 days. It all depends on how I feel.
