Progress so far...how am I doing?

I've been lifting now for about 12 weeks.

I am 6'0 and started at 175lbs with approx. 22% bodyfat.

I am now at 181lbs and 15% bodyfat.

I know gaining muscle and losing bodyfat is easier for newbies so I don't expect it to continue but it is nice to see results.

My training includes 3 day lifting....3 day cardio (45 minutes) each.

I've been eating very clean but I have not really been counting calories (yet).

    Is my progress reasonable?

    thanks,

    Mattlock

Lemme get the trusty old calculator out for ya

    12 weeks ago:
    136.5 lbs LBM
    38.5 lbs fat

    today:
    153.85 lbs LBM (+17.35)
    27.15 lbs fat (-12.35)

In other words: you kick ass, nice job, keep up the good work

    thanks

thanks for the motivation everyone. I really spent a lot of time reading on this board and I appreciate everyone's feedback.

PS. Its gets even better....my cholesterol dropped from 178 to 152 and my HDL (good) increased from 33 to 41. My ratio is finally under 4.0. and my triglyercides down from 109 to 66.

I attribute that to eating clean,...oatmeal 3x/day, walnuts and flaxseed oil in my morning shake....

Don't forget the cardio you've been doing. That benefits the most to your cholesterol.

I had read that cardio was a big factor in raising HDL. Ironically after 9 months of only cardio (elliptical) I did lose 25lbs but my HDL increased only 2 points.

Interestingly enought, It wasnt until I cleaned up my diet (which wasnt very "dirty" anyway) , started oatmeal 3x/day and almonds and began lifting weights 3x/week that I saw a substantial increase in HDL levels.

    thanks for the feedback NDBeast
