Thats usually the case but sometimes it gets hotter in Jan-Feb and slowly comes down in temperature afterwards. Summer is finished here now so no more beach

    Thanks wibble and mixta!

I celebrated my 21st birthday in the usual way, i'll try to catch up on posting tommorow or Wednesday.

London is relatively close to Brighton, the fastest route is around 55 miles (88.514 km). There are many traditional competitions that take place on this route - such as running, cycling, and driving (in mini's).

Wow, interesting. The mini races sound cool, looks like there is plenty to do for the tourist when they are over there.

I had a reasonably good workout today and my biceps were very fatigued by the end. This workout session lasted longer than usual.

I feel I may need to hit my back from another angle, and might try experimenting with some different back exercises in the coming weeks.

It is my 21st birthday tommorow, so to celebrate at work I went out today with some of my colleagues for a pub lunch. I drank alcohol for the first time in many months (a pint of stella artois), and predictably felt the effects slightly. They kindly collectively bought me a voucher and card.

I am not going to log my diet in the coming weekend so I can relax as much as possible.

I had an extremely good workout, and felt very tired afterwards.

I started today with a 2 hour driving lesson at 9.30am. I have booked a new test for this friday, but it is at a different test centre. I drove around it in this lesson and it appears to be quite a bit more of a complex area to drive around in. I am however still reasonably confident.

After a mid-day meal my parents and grandfather from France came over and we went out for lunch, and then a coffee on the pier. We got a taxi back and I opened my presents from my parents, friends, and flatmates with them all there. I also gave my mum her Birthday present (she shares the same birthday as me).

I got a book of the USA from my flatmates (for my upcoming holiday), a watch, some money, a weatherstation alarm clock and some chocolate from my grandad, money towards an mp3 player from my parents, clothes from my sisters, and various things from other people. I got a lot more than expected.

Soon after this I went out with my flat mates and some friends for an evening meal in an italian restaurant. I had lasagna and it was probably the best thing I have tasted for a good while, with an ice-cream dessert.

After the meal, some people left, and the rest of us went to an irish pub across the road from the restaurant. I drank a couple of pints and two shots of tequila with lemon (they did not have any salt).

I'm not completely sure of where we went after this, I can't remember. However, we ended up in a late night pub, complete with a dancefloor downstairs. I remember drinking many more tequilas and special drinks called a 'brain killers'.

I have never been this drunk before, but I believe I still maintained some control. I did do some quite unusual things though, such as swapping my shoes with one of the girls and lifting her onto my back. I'm not really sure how I managed to stay upright dancing with her on my back and high heeled shoes on!

Suffice to say I had an enjoyable night.

Luckily, I do not suffer from bad hangovers. After some alcohol abuse I usually get a headache, that dulls down throughout the day. This was the case in this situation.

I spent the day on my website project.

I got a huge amount done on my website project, and hopefully I should make the deadline of finishing it within this month.

I will resume logging my diet from tommorow. It has been an enjoyable weekend.

On Friday I purchased an mp3 player with the money my parents gave me. It's the Creative NOMAD MuVoČ 4GB. I will use it in the gym and when walking about.

mixta: Yeah, the player is really great, but the bundled headphones were not matching the player quality wise. I bought some clip on ear ones and they seem fine.

I did not gain in weight but I gained in strength. I have noticed my triceps and front delts changing quite drastically over the past few weeks, I think my routine is working the way I had planned.

I am hoping my weight will increase next week.

I was very tired before this workout, mainly due to lack of sleep. My strength was diminished most probably due to this.

My workout was performed later than usual due to a driving lesson I had at 6:30pm after work. The intense concentration for 1.5 hours of driving and the day at work probably compounded my fatigue.

I hope to get a good nights sleep Tommorow for my driving test on Friday.

I had my driving test today at 10:46am. I had an hour lesson before hand to get 'warmed up'. This test was at a different test centre to the old one and I was not completely familiar with the area, so my confidence was not as high as the previous test. I had some stomach discomfort when I woke up due to the meal last night, but it passed within an hour or so.

I passed my test, with 5 minor faults - one of which was stalling the car about 20 metres away from where I pulled off to begin the test. Luckily he dismissed it and put it down to nerves. The other faults were things like me signaling to turn, then realising there was a road before the road I wanted, and cancelling it. I was slightly uneasy as I did not know the roads he took me on.

I had to stop for 2 emergency vehicles on the test, and drove on a dual carriageway, country roads, main roads, side roads, and around a marina on the seafront. The route was a relatively difficult one so I am pleased that I held it together. My holiday plans can now advance, and I will rent the car for the USA in the Netherlands next weekend.

My workout that evening was good, despite the fact I left late.

That is great news about the driving test. Why are you renting the car for your USA trip in the Netherlands, instead of in the UK?

    TheGimp and Aka, thanks.

Aka, I'm renting the car in the Netherlands as my dutch friend has found a very good deal. It's cheaper for me to deliver my share of the cost in person than to transfer it via the bank. It also gives me a chance to see how he's doing, and catch up.

Congratulations on the driving test! Nice Shoulder/Leg workout you had on Friday, plenty of gains there. Have you tried using one leg at a time on the leg extension machine?

    Weekend 08/05/04 - 09/05/04

mixta: Thanks, I think I am progressing nicely in my shoulder workouts, I am certainly noticing them change, along with my upper chest area. I haven't tried 1 leg at a time on the leg extention machine, but I don't think it's going to be a problem, so long as I pre-fatigue my quads enough on the leg press / sled hack squat / squat exercises previous to this one.

wibble: Cheers. Yeah i'm hoping its going to be a holiday to remember. About meeting the other WBB members, to be honest I haven't thought about it. The only persons I can recall who live around the area we will visit are Aka23 and Budaik, i'm sure there are plenty more.

I spent most of the weekend on my website project. I went to see "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" on Sunday. It was an enjoyable movie and a nice change since I have not had time for such things in the past few months due to the work on my website project.

I felt extremely tired from the moment I woke up today, due to lack of sleep. I was up last night finishing a segment of code the CMS of my website.

Overall I was very surprised and pleased with the gains in this workout, and of course the weight gain.

I have booked the a trip to the Netherlands for this weekend to meet up with my dutch friend. Unless I take the train up to the port the day before, I will have to leave on friday morning at around 4:30am.
