The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

When I graduated from High School, I was 5'11, 135 pounds.

When I started lifting (age 25 or so), I was 5'11, 185 pounds. Most of that additional 50 pounds was gut.

I'm now 225, and my waist is smaller than it was when I was 185.
    Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. At some point in your lifting career (assuming you're planning on getting reasonably strong and big), you're going to have to accept that most people think you are some kind of freak." -Sensei

Houdini was always fat and avoided swimming class like the plague. Seems that when people lost wait Houdini would find it.

BoB was skinny in a land far far away. A voice cometh to him from a deep booming voice on the football team, "HAHA, there goes the STICK! HAHA." BoB was sadened and didn't know how to spell very well. This was in his softmore year of high school at 125lbs @ 5'11".

BoB was tired of being pushed around on the soccer field and picked on by the big Football players so he decided to lift weights ("sqrew mie spelin," said BoB). BoB learned that he could bench very well for his weight and by the time he was in 11th grade he was putting up 215 @ 140 lbs. By the end of his senior year BoB put up 280 @ 148 lbs. More than anyone within 90 lbs of his weight. This shocked the football team as they were all there to witness it. They could not believe that little ol' BoB had so much strength for being so small. *BoB rejoiced with his small & skinny friends*

BoB was introduced to a forum on the internet called WBB. BoB read through articles not posting anything, trying to learn. BoB then got up enough courage to post some questions, to further his learning of the BB-ing world.

At the end of high school BoB weighed a measily 148 lbs, and decided he wanted to weigh more to seek revenge on the kids that picked on him back in high school. BoB is now in the first year of college and weighs roughly 173 lbs. BoB is also staying lean because his metabolism is running at mach 5 at all times even when he's trying to bulk. BoB is happy with his progress and is ready for more. *BoB rejoices again*

The stories of BoB are to be continued... in his journal link down below.
    Weight: 194.0 lbs.Height: 5' 11"
    Raw PR's 425/340/534
    Goals for '10:
Put on size and git Strong(er)
Raw Goals: 450 Squat, 365 Bench, 570 Deadlift

Near beginning of year - 134 lbs. Too ****ing skinny.
Recently - 167 lbs. That's right!!!! That is ****ing right!

Needless to say, yes I was a skinny guy......now this year I've been training really hard to get myself stronger and larger. No it was not one of those stupid New Year's resolution things, I don't do those.

Gyno was a 5'10" 150lb guy with a little bit of a gut.

Gyno became a 230lb guy with very little gut and big arms.

Now Gyno is a 160lb guy that looks decent naked, even though he can't lift.
