The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

For those who highlighted their hair?

I am considering having my hair--I am in my 30s -- highlighted for a change and I would like to get some input from those who have done it.

How often do you have the highlights/haircut done?

Is it harmful for the hair ?

    How much does it cost?

Is there a cut off age?

And please dont tell me that is gay....

    Thanks for sharing.

i had it done heaps when i was 16-17, you have to get it redone every 2 months, or else you get nasty lookin regrowth, if you have thin hair, i would advise against it, but if you have thick hair, go for it..

Generally lasts about 2 haircuts. Bleach isnt great for the hair that its on, but it will not do any damage to hair that it hasnt touched (ie the new hair that grows out will be fine). If youve seen women with fried bleach blonde hair, its because they keep rebleaching the same hair over and over again. Shouldnt be a problem for guys. If you go to a beauty school or supercuts, you can probably get it done for 20-35$ (depending on the length of your hair). Going to a fancy salon is quite pointless for a guy. You could also go to a beauty supply, buy some bleach/processing solution for $10 and do it yourself. Though I probably wouldnt recommend this if you dont have any experience. No cut off age. Oh and dont forget to tip

i've got electric blue highlights....i need to ge them redone every couple months - dud to the color i can go a little longer because it just makes my hair look straky and funky while it growns out.

were you planning on going blond or something? and honestly i would suggest going to a stylist who knows what they are doing. you can go to a cheap place, but they are going to give you exactly what you ask for - highlights - which may or may not be age appropriate, and may or may not look decent when it grows out - a good stylist who cares about what they do is going to think about these things beforehand and give you a look that has some mileage.

my roommate fights with my stylist because he tries to be subtle and give her mileage and she wants loud and funky.

i know lots of guys who do it, but then again, i live in a liberal minded area. my boss is around 50 i think, straight, and has been getting super blond streaks ever since he lost 70 lbs a few months ago. i dont know how much it cost for a guy, but if you have short hair and want to same some cash, i think it's a no brainer to do if you have a friend who has colored hair before. or you could go to a salon the first time, then have your friend copy it the next time.

When I was working at a business/school supply store I saw this older woman (about 55-60) with really cool purple hair.

I have short hair and is not quite thick....

I was thinking to go for #1 or # 2 on the sides and to have my top being highlighted, but not super blond streaks ...just a subtle touch.

And if I dont like it I can dye it back to my original color which is light-medium brown.

Of course , I will have it done by a professional.

I had my hair short with dark roots and blonde tips for about 1-2yrs, i thought it looked pretty cool but when i went back to dark i pulled within 1 month and girls reckoned it was much nicer dark.

So ive kept it that way OBVIOUSLY!

Cus it looks cool on some people.

I just recently started highlighting my hair and got a salon cut and all my friends think it looks great.

I'm a big fan of leaving your hair to it's natural colors. But if you must be a pretty boy about don't go cheap. I've seen some guys that have just horrible hair dyies and they look like idiots who wants to be cool.
