    Total Body Workout

Generally most routines I see that are posted concentrate on a group or single muscle each day. I was wondering how it would effect my results or body if I simply train everything twice a week? If a do push and pull on the same day will it overtrain?

Not if you use really low volume. Quality over quantity.

Yes it would. If your using low volume ... then your using high intensity. You cannot train your full body at maxiumum intenisty unless your on a lot of cocaine.

No, but training your full body in one session is. A three day a week split would be good. If you can only do two days a week do something like this.

    Workout one.

    bench press x 3
    shoulder press x 3
    Chins x 3
    Tri Lying extentions x 3
    Bic Curls x 3

    Workout Two

    Squat x 3
    Leg Press x 3
    Leg Curls x 3
    Calve raises x 3
    Abs Crunches x3

The only problem with training your whole body twice a week is giving it enough time to recover from the damage you caused. You have to give your body/muscles enough time to rest and rebuild after each workout before you do damage to those areas again.

I personally can't train with the same intensity if I had to train so many muscle groups at one time(I stick to push/pull/legs split over a 6-7 day period)... and as far as a monday/thursday split(if thats for whole body), My muscles wouldn't be able to recover in time...and if they're not recovered.. I'd only be harming my growth.

    why?
when i did a fullbody routine i trained every sunday and wednesday. most people could manage that split without overtraining.

if your saying i'd need time to recover are you saying working any muscle twice a week isn't optimal?

It depends, depends on your goals, how well your body recovers (everyone is a little different), and how intensely you train. If you have a body part that is really lacking then hitting it twice a week is fine as long as you give it ample time to recover. Never work out a muscle that is still sore. I personally have just been hitting everything once a week but I was hitting shoulders twice a week there for a while cause I was really wanting to get them to grow. But I prefer the once a week for a body part, cause I'd rather go real intense. But the best would be to change it up, maybe go once a week on each body part real intense for a few weeks then change to a different split where you might go less intense and hit more body parts more than once a week. Am I making any sense here or just confusing you further?
