The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Working lower body at home...

Ok you creative home-workout people...what are some good ways to get more out of my lower body workout that I am forced to do at home with almost no equipment? Any creative solutions to the <no weight squats are just not workin for me > dilemma? And the <endless lunges are doing nothing> prob? Is there any way I could get a decent legs/lower back/calves workout without bying a huge amount of weights and equipment? Maybe if I hold my little sister across my shoulders as I squat...

    How much can you squat?

You said you don't want to buy a huge amount of weights. You don't really need to. Just buy two dumbells that you can change the weights on. And about 50 lbs total of weight for the dumbells. Probably only about 20 - 30 dollars depending where you buy it.

I don't know about one legged squats, never tried those before. Never heard of them really. Give 'em a try?

I doubt your sister would appreciate you squating with her on your shoulders. LOL.

Might raise a few eyebrows, yes.

    But yeah, they work.

Also: Dips between two chair backs are great. (Obviously these are not for your legs)

For the quads (primarily, but also hams and glutes), a nice superset is sissy squats supersetted with lunges (alternating legs). Can someone please provide a link that will demonstrate the sissy squat? This superset will give you an awesome thigh workout.

Whenever I think of sissy squats I picture what the lady on the left is doing. maybe it's just the name.

Hah! I didn't know WHAT that mpeg was going to be! Had to shield my laptop from my wife until I saw what it was. Didn't want her to see anything that might alter her expectations of normal male anatomy! LOL
