The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

It'd help if you gave us a general idea of the type of music you actually like too.

Anything by anyone from Lillith Fair, opera, and anything else you hate listening to.

(Why the hell are you asking us about what you want to hear? Get some fast driving music. Something to piss you off and get you pumped up.)

Ya something to get you pumped up like rap or whatever it is that gets you going.

If that doesn't work you can take an alternate approach and try something relaxing. I've actually had intense workouts listening to Bach lol. It's all in the mind

    Rocky music.
Especially from Rocky IV. "Going the distance" for the end of your workout and "Conquest" from part II!

The first songs of the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack are great too (Anvil of Crom and something else).

O Fortuna by Carmina Burana. Dies Irae by Mozart. That theme song from Romeo+Juliet (O Verona).

It really depends what kind of music you prefer. I prefer music that make me focusing. I usually try to fit the best parts with my sets.

How much do those little arm band MP3 players run? I'd love to get one for my work outs.
Best way to cheat on deadlifts...

Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial

iPod's are nice, but they're too freakin expensive.
I HIGHLY recommend the one I use: MPIO DMK.
This company is a little known company, since they mainly target Korea for sales. It was $99.99 on amazon.com, 128mb RAM, and SO SMALL. It's the best thing, ever.

At The Gates. If this stuff doesn't pump you up and fill you with the hate nothin will. Their stuff seems pretty hard to find but look for Nausea, Slaughter Of The Soul and Blinded By Fear (AWESOME song) Some other good choices:

    Godsmack
Static-X (Push It, This Is Not, Get To The Gone)
    Mudvayne
    Spineshank
    Disturbed

Get some crappy pop music, like Britney Spears, and put it on repeat. Thats likely to piss you off.

Ok I'm gonna get **** on here for my musical tastes, but I like listen to live music when I workout.

Blondie Live from 1999, is a great disc for me to work out.

Cher's Farwell Tour Live Cd is also one of my favorites to workout too.

And recently it's been Blondie's new cd, "The Curse Of Blondie" which simply kicks ass and is one of the best cd's ever made. Metal fans would like "The Last One In The World" It puts metal music made today to shame. If you're a Blondie fan you know Blondie has also been innovators in music. I really recommend this one to anyone.

At the gates was a great suggestion.

Amazing ...Bruise names two of my favorites that I've never had nyone else workout to . Carmina Burana and Anvil of Crom are two of the best . The second song on the Conan soundtrack gets good halfway through too .

Never forget Slipknot (the best) , Slayer , Pantera, Mudvayne,Disturbed, Godsmack and a new one I'm just getting into is Hatebreed .

    New stuff that's come out:

    The Freddy v. Jason Soundtrack
    The new Static-X disc "Machine"

    Older classics:

    Drain STH
    M.O.P.
    Midnight Configuration
    Xzibit
Moonspell (some stuff is a touch slow, but crunching and dark)
    Ministry
    Orange 9mm
    Slaves on Dope

I could come up with a bunch more stuff, including individual songs and some bands in addition to those that have been mentioned.

MTV2's Headbanger's Ball CD is good too. 2 cd set for $14. Go get it.

**edit: Wanted to add that its 20 songs per CD. That's a badass deal!
