The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Cheating on test or major exams...

Has anyone ever cheated on test? I'm asking this because i'm getting tempted to cheat on a VERY hard test worth 50% of my grade coming up next week. People cheat at my college all the time and never get caught. Hell I study my ass off and only get C's! It aint fair dammit!
I know what you guys are gonna give the the whole speech of "It's not worth the risk" but it seems so easy. The teachers just seem clueless.
My post goes out to the (ballsy) guys who admited to cheating on a MAJOR test or exam.
    1.How did you do it
    2. Were you nervous while doign it?
    3.Were you ever caught
    4. Did you feel good about it afterwards

P.S Keep in mind I have NEVER cheated on a test just wanted to hear stories from you guys.

    Cheating = bad

Being well prepared by reviewing previous tests given by the same teacher = ok

We always had old tests to help us study. Some think that is cheating, but I felt it was the best study guide. The more you know hw a teacher tests the better off you are.

I'm not gonna go with the whole "it's too risky" argument.

I'm gonna go with the "you're a freaking loser if you do because you're doing nothing but undermining those who work hard" argument.

If you cheat, you don't deserve to be going to college.

I would program rules & definitions into a TI-85 calculator for an accounting class. No studying for Y2A.

I have programmed formulas into my calculator which is sort of a gray area. Some professors don't mind you doing that, and others may not like it. I really disagree with not giving formula sheets for certain exams.

    edit:
It looks like Y2A beat me to it.

I can't believe people would think that was cheating. Most professors around here encourage us to look at old exams.

write stuff on your legs. Go through the test and see what you need to know, then go to the toilet and check it out.

Personally I don't cheat. I have never been tested on material that they didn't teach or directed me to learn.

just a hint- in some classes they make you clear you TI before the test, simply store the program in memory by presing enter under the "memory>programs" list and it wont be delted- saved my ass by mistake on a test.
Cheating in school is different- its not life, once or twice is fine as long as it helps you in life. I mean if its some bull**** course - not somethin important that you need to know

Every single person in this thread who has suggested cheating and or cheated...

I have logged your IP and will be reporting it to your school.

Nah, just kidding. But cheating is for losers. If you're fine with being a loser, good for you.

You may not find this to be "ballsy" as you put it. But think about what would happen if you did get caught. Kiss your education goodbye. And nothing like being left with all that debt and nothing to show for it. But really, I'd study harder or in a different fashion if you really try and only manage C's. Study partner, get old tests for review, get a tutor...the list goes on. I wouldn't cheat though. You might get a better grade on paper, but you'd be dumber for it.
Best way to cheat on deadlifts...

Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial

    I am all for cheating.
I've spent many hours programming in my T-86, which is a good review. I don't consider it cheating if those types of calcs are allowed.
As are cheating, its results that count in this world.
I can only remember when I cheated bad once. I was retalking a test, you kept retaking until you got it right. I ask the prof just to drop my grade he wouldn't. The retakes were similar/same to others. I was in the hall outside his office and pulled a old one out of my bag.

Man fi you get caught, the dean get sot personally rape your ass with a stick. Just do your work, and you'll be fine. I had a friend expelled this year for plagarism, let alone getting busted cheating on an exam, they don't take that kinda thing lightly

Ultimately, cheating on a test is cheating yourself -- kind of like lying in your workout log regarding your lifts for a certain week. Sure it looks good on paper, but you're not really any farther ahead, are you.

The thing a lot of people don't "get", because of the adversarial relationship between students and teachers that often develops, is that you're in school for YOU. Forget parents, teachers, grades, all that crap. Fundamentally, if you're sane, you should be in school for yourself. To better yourself, to learn things, to gain competence at performing under pressure, etc, etc. If that **** isn't important to you, drop out and go work somewhere instead of wasting time and money and effort on school.

Cheating is simply robbing yourself of the opportunity to learn and grow.

IMO, job experience is the easiest way to learn. School was a waste of time and a means to getting a job. Keep cheating man, knowledge is overrated.

"Why should the best results go to those who are most intelligent, based solely on the abilities that God gave them.............I say cheating is a gift man gives himself"

Mr Burns once used an argument like that to convince Homer to cheat with him by using snow mobiles to find the log cabin. Many people will subscribe to that belief.

As for me I used to cheat in high school exams, when getting caught meant getting in trouble with your teachers. But for an official state exam it is certainly not worth the risk, for reasons above which somebody mentioned
