For Bench Only Barbell Bench, DB Bench, or both?

Say you were doing Chest twice per week, what would you do?

It would depend on my goals but right now I'm partial to barbell.

How would your goals guide you homie? Hypertrophy you go for...? and strength you go for...?

As for me, I do both BB and DB bench in each workout. BB first, and then DB. 16 reps of each.

Edit: To clear things up, I dont do 1 set of 16 reps, I do 16 reps total, in 2-4 sets. I know that sounds confusing, but read my journal to get a better understanding of why i do what i do.

I think for strength (involving powerlifting) I'd be geared more towards barbell all the time and do more of a Westside ME and DE days. For growth, I'd be a bit more content to use db's (mainly because I like them better), but just switch between the 2. Probably keeping the reps a tad higher, though probably no more than 8 but alternating between a high volume and a low-to-moderate volume day (a la a workout I've seen some people doing these days.)

    I prefer DB's unless I'm going for a 1RM.

I do both. Bench as an overall lift and DB's to help with balance.

i personally prefer the barbell. But just be consistent.

get a routine and give it time. if it does not break, do not fix it.
