Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    How to prevent a cold?

Catching a cold is a common occurence for me....What would be the best way to prevent those pesky colds? Any feasible proactive action should I take?

I usually load up on Vit C, 500mg a day....should I increase my daily intake?

    Any other tips?

Oddly enough a good mental attitude can also help prevent colds.

Olive Leaf Extract is most excellent.

How about avoiding crowds, washing your hands, not sharing utensils with others, and not putting your fingers up to your eyes and nose? Those things are going to go a long way further in minimizing the spread of a virus than any supplement ever thought about.

See, while I was in basic training (a whole 2 weeks ago), our drill sergeants got smart and "issued" us hand sanitizer, so that you can continue your day to day routine, but can sanitize when you havn't a chance to wash. It isn't that cheap, but it can be useful.

I would increase intake of Vitamin C to 1,000 mg/day and take glutamine if you're not taking it already. Glutamine is suppose to help with your immune system along with muscle recovery.

Just do things that discourage the spread of virus, like I posted above. It's a whole lot cheaper, and will be a whole lot more effective in the long run.

wash your hands frequently like delphi said.

matter of fact all of his advice is good advice. well i kinda disagree on the crowds thing. i mean yeah, if you avoid large masses of people oyu do avoid a lot of germs, but on the other hand if you expose yourself to a lot of germs, it allows your immune system to get a bit stronger fighting them off.

OK, that just made me laugh out loud at work and everyone looked at me funny. I'm off to stick my head in the toilet so I can block bullets.

IMO I think if you've built a strong immune system, then avoiding crowds and washing your hands is fairly insignificant. Besides food poisoning, I haven't been sick in almost 7 years, and I've always eaten well and gotten vitamins and minerals and supplements ect.

don't discount hand-washing chasey - that was the biggest medical miracle to occur during the middle ages. (seriously)

Pffft, sissies. I can't recall the last injection I had that wasn't self administered

But yes, washing hands is important, it's not something I've always kept up on until recently though.
