Natty peanut butter contains no salt or anything else just nuts unlike the ones found in supermarkets which contains a lot of bad fats salt and loads of uneccessary junk. You can find the natty stuff in certain health food stores

Most regular grocery stores carry a natural brand as well you just have to read the labels.

    The Label should say: Peanuts.

at first i thought pb = pubic hairs rofl

natural peanut butter from Adams brand... expensive, get peanuts instead. peanuts suck, only too much polyunsaturated fats and omega6. Little mono and omega3.

Better get cold pressed flax oil or flax seeds with electric grinder.

Nothing is wrong with omega 6 - it is one of the two essential fatty acids that your body requires. Like anything, moderation is key.

It has now been found that an excess of omega-6 interferes with the benefits of omega-3, making existing omega-3 shortages more acute. The more omega-6, the stronger the tendency for the blood platelets to clot. This lays the basis for thrombosis, and to some extent for atherosclerosis. In the diet of the western world, the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 is 50:1.

You are already getting lot of it from vegetable oils and nuts. You do need omega6, however peanut is a poor choice because it has ONLY omega6 and little monounsaturated fat. Flax, hemp and safflower oil are better choices. Omega6 also slows down your recovery from soreness or muscular inflammation caused due to intense exercise, which is opposite effect of omega3.

Actually, natural peanut butter contains a pretty even balance of mono/poly. Not sure what brand you are eating.

    Out of 14g:
    Safflower is 11 mono, 2 poly and 1 sat. Olive is 10, 2, 2.
    Peanut is about 6,6,2.

    You see.

    You got it!

Not quite the same as: "peanut is a poor choice because it has ONLY omega6 and little monounsaturated fat ..."

hey shiek, you can also get natural peanut butter really cheap at the large grocery stores. just go to the bulk section of the store, where you package your own candies, honey etc, and there should be a fresh tub of natural peanut butter. the stuff is great, and it's really cheap.
