The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Cubbies Get Maddux Back

My Cubs just signed Gregg Maddux. Now they've got Prior, Wood and Maddux in their lineup. I think one of the biggest things he'll bring to the pitching staff is experience and the ability to win games mentally. I think the Cubs are going to be big again this year. I can't wait till the season starts.
Best way to cheat on deadlifts...

Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial

I live in Atlanta and I just have to say that I think Scott Boras is a dick. Anyone else catch him on SportsCenter saying "We would have re-signed with Atlanta for ONLY $40 million over 3 years."

It's too bad to see Maddux go, when I was playing college baseball I worked a few baseball camps with him; (although I have to say the ones with Millwood were more fun, sad to see him go, too.).

You're right, Maddux is getting up there. But he's still getting wins. And on top of that you have to account for the experience he's going to bring to a young pitching staff. He's going to help give those kids a bit more of an edge that's going to make for one of the top pitching staffs in baseball.

He may be old but he still won 15 games last year and kept his ERA under 4.00. How many younger pitchers can say that?

Yeah; the first camp I worked with him I was like "holy ****; I'm bigger than he is"

Although I couldn't say that about Millwood or Andruw Jones when I worked their camps.

the cubs are going to be awesome, wood, prior, clement, maddux, zambrano. with hawkins now in the bullpen too. ouch.

with the beefed up offense with derrek lee and todd walker. patterson should be back in the outfield after his injury last year.

look out world, here come the cubs.

as far as maddux' value, he will bring one awesome education to the younger pitchers. he is still a good pitcher, just not given corners anymore like he has the past 18 years. even if he only wins 12 or 13 games, that is still awesome for being the 4th or 5th guy in the rotation. most teams cant say they have that.

I'm so happy that I've started a thread that hasn't resulted in me being flamed.

Maddux has declined, but hes going to be the #3 starter for the Cubs. How many teams can boast a #3 starter better than Greg Maddux? Maybe Oakland.

I think the Cubs are going to be the team to beat in the NL.

Maddux has had a bad couple years. He's going to surprise people in his later years, just like Bonds.
