    Meet results(Candyass Classic)

    BWT- 158

    Bench:
    1st- 315(EZ)
2nd- 340(missed about 1/2" from locking my second arm)
3rd- 340(missed a little lower than the last one)

    Dead:
1st- 470(pretty easy/the suit was a little awkward, won't be pulling in it anymore)
    2nd- 500(missed about 1/2" from locking out)
3rd- 500(missed a little lower than the first try/grip gave out)

    Total- 785

Not a great meet for me, but I was within a total of about 1" of having two big meet PR's. I just couldn't lock the bastards out! I was not aloud to stagger my grip on the bench press like I usually do, so I think that didn't help my lockout, but whatever. I'm just glad that everyone else hit some big PR's, both meet and all-time. Coach is proud of all of ya.

I also want to thank my gf for driving us for a total of about 8-9 hours and putting up with me.

I will be hitting at least 350 on the bench in my next meet.

That sucks bro, I was hoping to see you hit some new PRs this weekend. How did you get the dead so high and not lock that bugger out?? Did anyone bring a video camera?

    Nice lifting Chris.

Nice job, Chris! Some damn impressive weight, especially at 158lbs. What do you mean by stagger your grip on bench press? When is the next compeition where you'll be squatting?

    Thanks everyone.

Like a lot of lifters, I have one arm that usually has a tougher time locking out a heavy weight than the other. To combat this and make as even an extension as possible, I move my weaker hand 1-finger width out and my stronger arm 1-finger width in. This still keeps me within the legal limits of grip(81 cm) and allows me to balance out. I was told I could not do this at the meet for some reason, even though I would not be going wider than allowed.

I'll be doing a full APF meet on April 17th in NJ.

That's odd. I didn't kow the rules specified where you put your hands, as long as they were within the legal width.

    Good job at the meet.
    Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. At some point in your lifting career (assuming you're planning on getting reasonably strong and big), you're going to have to accept that most people think you are some kind of freak." -Sensei

Paul- I'm not sure if it is clear in the rulebook, but the head judge said he wouldn't allow it.

The meet is in Clarksburg, NJ.

If you asked ahead of time, that's where you screwed up. Next time, just do it. Chances are, one finger width won't be very noticeable, as long as it's within the allowed range.

I was thinking the same thing. My handoff guy asked. I think they wouldn't even have notices as well.
