    Shake on cardio days

    For those of you who complete your cardio on a separate day, do you still take protein and simple carbs after cardio?

    I would if I could afford it. Shakes are clean sources of calories and protein so drinking them isn't bad. But actual food is always better.

    maybe if I did some hiit i would... but personally I just eat a regular meal.

    I usually eat whole foods most days anyway.
    Although this morning for instance I had a myoplex deluxe 1 hour before I ran 13 miles.
    I like that because they don't sit "too heavy" in my gut.
    Then, when I was done I ate about three cups of lowfat cottage cheese and two apples.
    I'll eat a lot today too, I always do when I run so far.
