    popups

Hey guys. I'm having a real bad problem with popups. It started just a couple days ago. I can't get anything done on the computer anymore. I'm getting so many. I just closed 54 of them, and they keep coming back. I installed a popup blocker, but it apparently isn't working well. Help! Any Ideas?

Try getting a spyware killer. Also, are you running Kazaa? That will install spyware in your computer and needs spyware to run. Damn the pop-ups!!

I'm using Spybot. I use Kazaa lite, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I'm pretty sure it's this PurityScan thing that has been going around.

What should I do? I use the Norton Firewall. And I just got through cleaning everything out with spybot, but I still have the pop ups. I just closed 40 of them.

Install AdAware and get the latest update. Boot into safe mode. Run AdAware. Then run your anti-virus whilst in safe mode.

Boot into normal mode. Go into your services and disable the messenger service. If you use IE, install the google toolbar. Otherwise install Mozilla Firefox.

That should be a good start. Going through the "Add/Remove Programs" dialog in your control panel should help you find some cuprits as well.

SF has got it down. Adaware is the best program ever to get rid of popups.

www.toolbar.google.com also works good to prevent popups. Adaware works great for getting all the spyware crap off your machine.

Get the adaware download from www.zdnet.com and install it.

Adware does a great job on cleaning up the computer also i installed the Google search tool bar that has a pop up blocker with it and i might get 3 pop ups a month. I love it for that plus you have a google search at the top of you screen at all times. you can download it HERE

Do you visit online pornography or dating websites? Those seem to be the two worst offendors when it comes to causing chronic popups. My popup blocker can't even stop them.
