The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I had to read that book for English 238. Good read. Sam Fussell is a f*cking pussy though. Afraid of the world.

Great book. Very well written, humorous and entertaining.
I wonder if Fussel ever got back in to bodybuilding.

Just thought I'd bump this. After I saw this thread I ordered it from Amazon. I got it yesterday but I'm almost done. It's an excellent book, just a bit short. Anyone else read it? Thoughts?

Read it as well- good read. I agree with Justin, too damn short. Well written, though.

I own it. And I think I enjoyed it because I know people in real life scarily similar to characters in the book.

I read it many years ago (10 at least). I think it was the sign on the road for me. I had been lifting for a few years and was getting to the point any more progress was going to need steroids and serious commitment to the lifestyle ie. all my wage going to steroids , food and supplements. Now I just do maintenance lifting with some powerlifts thrown in. Now I am not as big as dorian yates or have < 10% bf, but I have an asthetically pleasing shape, lots of money and a plethora of friends.

It seemed to me that the author didn't know how to find a happy medium. He went balls to the wall, burnt himself out, and then decided to drop it altogether. Doesn't make sense.

Otherwise it really was a great book.

I guess the lesson is all things in moderation...cliche, but that's the take home lesson for me.
