The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I was talking to one of the guys who trains there and it sounds like something I am gonna be enrolling in very shortly. I just need to get my **** together with family first and than its on

Eric- Thanks man. Yea I'm glad I didn't do many weighted chins yesterday, though I wish I hadn't done any back work at all, because the CF today was a lot of chins.

Coke- Thanks man, I can only give it my best and see what happens. The speed isn't all that impressive, but hopefully it will help build some explosiveness in my benching, as I tend to bench really slow.

Mase- Gracias senor. I think this could be the best combo for me. We'll see how it goes.

Nick- Thanks bro. BJJ is freakin awesome. I just wish I had started sooner. The speed work, as well as the whole session was easy, but at least I got some stuff done.

Mase- Dude that is friggin awesome news bro. Get into it as soon as you can. You def. won't regret it.

Played some fullcourt basketball for about 20-30 minutes before doing the Crossfit.

    Workout- Cindy

    Location- School Gym

    Cindy:

    5 pullups
    10 pushups
    15 squats

Do as many rounds as you can in 20 minutes.

    Rounds completed: 17

    Pullups: 85
    Pushups: 170
    Squats: 255

Very happy with today's workout. I actually feel like I put up a decent number, though Anthony put up 19 (short bastard). I flew through the first 6. 7-10 slowed down a bit, but remained unbroken. 11-17 had me coming off the bar for the chinups, but I made up the time on the pushups and squats. None of the squats or pushup sets were unbroken. Never felt like puking. Mouth got a bit dry though.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

Sore? You pansy ass. Okay, I'm still sore from last thursday and tomorrow my shoulders will probably fall off, but that's not the point.

Nice numbers bro. A little too close for comfort, though. I'll have to put up 22+ rounds next time.

Midget- Alright bro, it's on!!! I'll get you, and your little dog too haha.

Mase- Don't worry man. I'll get him.

    Workout: Crossfit

    Location: School Gym

    Hanging Power Cleans- 3,2,2,2,1,1,1,1

    95lbs x 3
    105lbs x 2
    115lbs x 2
    125lbs x 2
    135lbs x 1
    145lbs x miss
    145lbs x 1
    135lbs x 1

Overall, these numbers were def. lower than regular power cleans, though that should be obvious. My form is terrible, in that I use much more upperbody to muscle it up, than to get a decent dip under the bar. I have like no dip whatsoever, and pull the weight the entire way up. I'll have to fix this in the future.

    BJJ:

Some good back to the basics stuff. Though we worked on some new things as well. Very in depth and focused class. I love it.

Basic and intense work with BJJ but those cindy workouts were off the wall, lol - I'm sure they'll serve the purposes.

The cleans are looking clean... haha get it uh ok no

When your pulling on those cleans where is the bar at? With cleans it should travel as close to your body as possible till you hit the mid part of your thigh. once you hit the mid part of your thigh you want to thrust your hips out pushing the bar and giving it momentum so you can than be able to dip under it. Hope that helps, I know it helped me big time

Coke- Haha, yea the workouts are a bit diff. but I think they'll work.

Mase- Thanks man. I'll have to keep that in mind.

    Nick- Thanks bro, I'm trying.

Weekly Weigh In- I weighed in at 174lbs.

    BJJ:

Went and trained a bit with my instructor. Worked on some sweeps from the guard and then rolled a bit. Really focusing on trying to get my Jiu Jitsu game to a new level. I have a long way to go, but I'm on the way.

Eric- Yea I think once I get the form down and get under the bar some, the weights will climb quickly.

    Nick- Will do man, thanks.

    Coke- Thanks man.

Was in class from 10-4:45 today and then headed straight to the gym....

    Workout- Heavy Deads, Light Assistance

    Location- School Gym

    Deads:

    135lbs x 3
    135lbs x 3
    185lbs x 2
    225lbs x 2

    325lbs x 1 (+30lbs PR) HELL YEA!!!

    Deep Squats:

    135lbs x 5
    135lbs x 5
    135lbs x 5
    135lbs x 5
    135lbs x 5

    Lying Leg Curls:

    90lbs x 5
    120lbs x 5
    120lbs x 5
    120lbs x 5
    120lbs x 5
    120lbs x 5

    Heavy Abs:

    5 sets x 5

Overall, a ****IN AWESOME session. I had made up my mind to go as heavy as I could tonight, but didn't know how I'd feel after not deading for 3weeks and then being in school all day. Well my body def. answered that for me. All the doubles were fast and light as hell. I knew I wanted 315 but didnt know if I could get it off the floor, as I've never attempted anything near this. Well as soon as I started to pull, it flew up off the floor. I was like hell yea! I decided to go a bit heavier and 325 came up really easy as well. I'm sure I could probably pull at least another 20lbs, but I dunno how my form looked, even tho there was no hitching or anything at all, and as I get more tired my form will suffer even more, so I decided to call it a day for deads. The light assistance was just that, very light. Overall very happy with my workout, and now finally I've pulled 3 plates and more.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.
