Well, I have 4-5 hours to decide. I'm leaning towards doing both. I'll have two rest days after tomorrow. Well, I spar on Saturday, but it shouldn't be too rough.

Haha yea Eric, but if he does the squats before he does the CF, than I'll have to listen to him complain about not beating my time.

Ant man, don't let Jodi beat my time by too much. It might make me cry.

She's dead set on sub 18.

And I promise I won't complain about doing squats first. Based on some quick calculations, I predict a 15-16 minute time.

Haha that's cool bro. I won't feel as bad if you only beat me by 2-3min. I just don't want you to bust out some time thats like 5min faster haha. I'll feel like **** if that happens.

    4 rounds for time of-
    400m run
    50 staggered squats

WTF is a staggered squat? Where are the pushups? I'm confused.

Nah, here's what I think I will average:

    2:00 row
    0:45 pushups
    1:00 squats
    3:45 round x 4 = 15 + transition time ...

Now, if you hauled some serious ass...
    1:30 row
    0:30 pushups
    0:45 squats
    2:45 round = 11 minutes + transition time...

And a 1:30 row for 4 rounds with pushups/squats in between is pretty much impossible for me or anyone I know.

Mix- A staggered squat is what mimics my grappling stance. I posted on this awhile back. Basically walk in a straight line, stop when both feet are touching the ground, then you sit back and down and you end up in a squat that is similar to a baseball catcher's stance, though your feet are offset.

As far as no pushups. I throw the pushups in when I do the rowing and squats. When I do the timed running and all that, I just do the bw squats.

    Anthony-

I think with the squats before hand, that time will be right on, but I suspect you'll fly through the pushups a lot faster than that. I don't expect them to last more than 30 seconds a round.

Oh okay, is the row 500m or 400m?

The row is 500 meters, but the run is 400 meters.

Just to clear things up ... Chub has two different routines that are similar

    500m row
    25 pushups
    50 squats
    4 rounds for time

    400m run
    50 staggered squats
    4 rounds for time

Depends. My shoulders took a beating the last 3 workouts (filthy 50, cleans/pushups, 5x5) ... I'll be happy at 45 seconds.

    Mik- Haha thanks I guess...

Got up at 8:30 today and sat around the apartment until I went to the gym at 12:45.

    Workout: Crossfit

    2:20 500m row- Warm Up
    Stretching- Warm up

    500m rowing sprint-

    Time: 1:38
Comments: Actually very happy with the time I posted. Only the second time I've rowed, pretty much ever, though I rowed just a very minute bit several years ago. Started out VERY fast, and that may have hurt my time a bit. I started out with a 1:32-1:33 pace for the first 350m or so, but about the time I hit 425m I was up to a 1:40 pace or so and felt as though I'd run into a wall. Maybe starting a bit slower and then sprinting the last 100m would be better, but I'm pretty happy considering this is 9 seconds off of being put on Crossfits Elite Wall.

    2nd Crossfit-

Complete as many rounds as possible in 10 minutes of:

    10 pushups
10 true situps (nobody holding feet or anything)

    Rounds Completed: 12
Comments: WOW, my abdominal endurance, for lack of better words, sucks ass. The pushups were fine, but the situps were rough. Kinda mad at my performance, as I obviously wanted quite a few more rounds, but it just gives me something else to work for.

    Randomness-

    Incline Hammer Curls:

    30s x 5
    30s x 5
    30s x 5
    30s x 5
    30s x 5

Overall good sessions. There wasn't much to the Crossfits today, as I just wanted to get a good time on the row and then push myself in the pushups and situps thing. Pretty happy though, and I'll be off to BJJ in just a bit.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

How'd BJJ go? Also, like Anthony said, you'll get better with practise.

Eric- Thanks bro. It was tough, but I think I put up a pretty good time.

Ant- Thanks man. I think I'll be able to bust into the 1:20s before too long. I'm just happy that I'm FAIRLY close to being "good" at something from Crossfit.

    Nick- Thanks bro. Comments below...

    BJJ:

Helped with the private session today at the studio before the kid's class. Looks like we'll be adding two new students there. The kids class was pretty similar to what we did in the adult's class. Worked on a new side control/hold down, with some street fighting ideas thrown in. Rolled towards the end of class. Just messed around with one of the new guys and one of the guys that's been taking for a good bit. Then rolled serious with the 2nd best guy in class. He beat me but not too bad. Overall a good class.

Mase- Thanks bro. The Crossfit was fairly tame compared to what it has been in the past, and BJJ wasn't too intense, so overall it was a pretty laid back day.

Coke- Thanks man. That's what we try to do at Fear Systems. We try to make all the new people better than we are. If we do that, then we've succeeded.

Weekly Weigh In- Scale was being very funky and wouldn't give me the same reading twice, so I waited till I got home to weigh, though I ate in between. Def. gained some weight this week, though I don't know how much.

Off to eat dinner and then watch the UFC fights at Fear Systems. Get up with ya'll later.

Sat in class all day until I was finally able to get into the gym.

    Workout: Goodmornings

    Location: School Gym

Goodmornings SS with Light Ass to Ankles Squats
(went straight from GM to Squat, no setting bar down)-

    45lbs x 5
    95lbs x 5
    135lbs x 5/135lbs x 5
    145lbs x 5 (+10lbs)/ 145lbs x 5
    155lbs x 5 (+20lbs)/ 155lbs x 5
    145lbs x 5 (+10lbs)/ 145lbs x 5
    135lbs x 5/ 135lbs x 5

    Lying Leg Curls-

    90lbs x 5
    135lbs x 5
    140lbs x 5 (+5lbs)
    140lbs x 5 (+5lbs)
    140lbs x 5 (+5lbs)
    140lbs x 5 (+5lbs)

    Heavy Abs-

    5 sets x 5

Overall a pretty good session. Made some good gains on the GMs. The Light A2A squats were just that, light. The GMs did leave my lowerback pretty tight though, so that made the SS pretty interesting. The leg curls and heavy abs were just assistance, but I made a decent gain in them. Overall a pretty good session.
