    Damn right.

And, Carolina is awesome. That is all.

Great the way you are handling this ordeal, always going about things in a smart manner...now is the best time to really observe others via vids or dvd, there is something to be gained from all this that you can apply once you get moving again. Glad to see you gradually on the mend, to be honest it looks like you are almost good to go again.

Mix- I loved watching Carolina beat up on Duke. Hansbrough is a manchild.

Coke- Thanks man. I'm feeling better, but I want to take it fairly slow.

Got up and worked out at about 8:30 or so. Not used to working out that early. It was also pretty cold and windy.

    Workout: MGW

    Location: Home

    Crossfit Inspired-

    500m run
    10 broad jumps over box
    15 85lbs (1/2 bw) Push Presses

Goal: As many rounds completed as possible in 20min.

Rounds Completed- 4 and 320 meters ran on the 5th round.

    Comments:

Not a bad session. It was fairly tough, and pukie almost caught me right at the end. Almost, but not quite. All that comes out to be 2320 meters ran, 60 Push Presses and 40 broad jumps completed. I think I had a pretty good showing, though I wanted 5 complete rounds. The push presses were fairly difficult, just because I'm used to working such low rep numbers, and also because the run and jumps took a bit out of my legs. RCs held up pretty good, which was a concern of mine. Overall a pretty good session, and my body is sore as **** right now haha.

    BJJ:

Did some stand up today in both the kids and adults classes. Headlock escapes, double leg defense; things along those lines. Rolled between classes a bit with my instructor and one of the better guys. We rolled no gi. Felt good to get back on the mat. I've been missing it.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

I got a copy of "To Hate Like This Is to Be Happy Forever" autographed today. You should pick up a copy -- freaking funny stuff about Dook/Carolina.

Wow, I started reading your journal just now and your progress is very impressive. I was reading on your first and 2nd page how you were saying that you could do 115 x 6 on the bench, and now you are 200 x 4. Phenominal progress, as well as great progress on your other lifts. Keep up the good work man.

    Coke- Thanks big guy.

Iron- Thanks man, and welcome to the journal. I dare say my strength gains would have been much better if I haven't had to stop for surgery once, and injurys a couple of times. I also have a tendency to switch from split to split, so I normally don't stay on a strength split too long, as evidenced by the change to the pure GPP split.

Switching splits regularily isn't all that bad of an idea, stimulates your muscles at different times in different ways, which is a good thing. Keep it up.

Eric- Haha thanks man. I'll try and get some video for ya.

Mase- Oh yea bro. It felt great to actually do something after taking the week off.

    Workout: G

    Location: Home

    GPP-

Today called for focus on one bodyweight movement. I would have worked on handstand pushups, but I want to ease back into movements that involve a lot of my shoulder. Instead I opted for 20 minutes of jumps. Focus on explosion and distance. Did a lot of broad jumps over box, running jumps, standing long jumps, tuck jumps and jumps squats. Easy day.

All those jumps including the squats are ace...keep hanging in there, you'll be able to go full circle with it all soon.

Coke- Thanks man. I would have like to try the handstand pushups, but I don't want to do that QUITE yet.

Eric- Haha yea. The G, M, and W and apply to the 3 sections (gymnastics, weights etc.). I just put them in there so I can remember what I was supposed to do.

Got up and worked out at 8 again. Hate getting up, but oh well.

    Workout: M and W

    Crossfit Inspired-

    50 45lbs Push Presses
    50 Squats
    50 2 count Russian Twists

    Goal: 4 Rounds for Time

    Time: 20:05

    Comments:

Not a bad performance I don't think. The first set of squats was unbroken. The Pushpresses got difficult as I went along. Not too bad though. I didn't feel like doing situps, so I decided to do 2 count Russian Twists instead. They worked the core pretty good. I averaged right at 2 seconds per rep, which I don't think is all that bad. I'd really like to dip down towards 15:00 though. It'll take a good bit of work. Overall, got a good workout, and I'm fairly happy with the way I performed.

Eric- Yea it sucked to begin with and then I was just like **** it. Thanks bro.

Nick- Thanks man. The RCs don't really hurt so much right now, it's just that my left one is fairly weak.

    Mase- Thanks bro.

    BJJ-

Went pretty good today. Did all stand up during the instructionals. Did a lot of jabs following by Thai kicks. Pretty good stuff. Rolled some in between classes. I could tell I've missed some days, but overall it felt great.

    Weekly Weigh In- 176lbs

    Workout: GMW

    Location: Home

    Crossfit-

    65lbs DL x 10
    65lbs Hang Clean x 8
    65lbs Push Press x 6

Goal: As many rounds completed in 20 minutes as possible.

    Results-

17 complete rounds with 10 DLs and 6 Hang Cleans on 18th round.

    Comments-

Actually very happy with the score today. Really wanted 20 complete rounds, but fell a bit short. Grip became a MAJOR factor. Grip was really the only thing holding me back. I was on pace to hit 20 rounds but at the 15min mark I could only complete 2.5 more rounds because my grip was gone. Sitting here typing this 30 minutes later, and still my forearms are toast. The Hang Cleans were actually the toughest part for me, I believe due to grip. The push presses were a nice break from the downward pull of the weights. Overall a good performance, IMHO.
