The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

AHHHHH!!!! Not Black River! Haha, there's a almost feud going on between Real McCoy Paintball (where I'm sponsored, and play) and Black River. Black River has a tendency to treat our teams like **** when we go to tournaments down that way. If you enjoy your time playin though, let me know. You can come down to Real McCoy and play with the team sometime. I can probably get you some paint for about half of what you'll pay at Black River, and everybody is cool as hell.

Stump- Yea my Ego is fast as hell, though I am looking at getting back into the DM family.

Eric- Thanks man. So far I like the split. I may add a bit of variation to it, but for the most part, it's going to stay the way it is for awhile.

Ended up swimming and throwing the football around for a good bit. Got a fairly good workout in.

Weighed in at 172.2lbs on Friday. That's down 2lbs. Don't really think I dropped that much actual weight. I think I may have been a bit dehydrated.

Honestly today I just didn't feel like lifting. I don't know what it was. I've had a **** load of school work and other stuff going on, which may have put some mental strain on me, but usually I feel like hitting it pretty hard. Oh well, I'll pull through it here soon. I'll just have to keep going through the motions until I get back to my old self.

    Coke- I agree man.

    Eric- I hope so bro.

Ended up going to the beach today. Haha actually dug holes in the sand for like 45min. Forgot how much of a workout that was. Didn't do a actual workout today. I'm going to try and get to the house early tomorrow so I can get one in before the weekend.

    BJJ:

Classes went pretty good today. Did A LOT of rolling to make up for no workout. My body is beat to **** at the moment.

Alright really slacked this last week, but I plan on coming back hard this week. The plan is to hit up the CF sessions like I normally do, but anytime I'm in the gym, I'll add a good amount of heavy compound lifts. I think I really need to build my base strength up as well as my conditioning, so I'll try adding in a greater amount of heavy weight work. Should be a good week.

I'd be torn if I were like one you guys in the fight game. I know it must be hard because something has to take a backseat to something else, doing good though...there has got to be moments where you're thinking "fulltime MMA".

Coke- Man you have no idea how many times I contemplate quitting lifting and doing BJJ like 5 days a week.

    Eric- Haha will do bro.

Was hyped up all day to get into the gym to lift. I felt like much more of my normal self than I did last week.

    Workout: Compound Lifts and MGW

    Location: School Gym

    Benchpress-

    45lbs x 10
    95lbs x 5
    145lbs x 5
    145lbs x 5
    145lbs x 5
    145lbs x 5
    145lbs x 5

    DLs-

    135lbs x 3
    135lbs x 3
    185lbs x 2
    225lbs x 2
    225lbs x 2
    225lbs x 2
    225lbs x 2
    225lbs x 2

    Crossfit Inspired-

    10 (5L/5R) 50lbs 1 Arm Swing
    10 pushups
    10 65lbs Push Press

    Goal: 10 Rounds for time

    Time: 15:33

    Comments:

Felt awesome to get back in the gym and do some compound lifts. I didn't want to go heavy on the bench, as I still want to ease my way back into all that. The 145lbs felt light for the 5x5, even though rest times were short. The DLs flew up. I went light on them, just because I haven't went heavy in quite awhile. I then did the GPP for today. This was actually a fair amount tougher than I thought. I wanted to do something with BW squats, but my right knee is hurtin anytime I go deep, so I gotta watch for that. Tris were shot after the CF. Awesome session overall today, and it felt great.

I hear ya about being back in the gym. Just make sure you take it easy with the RC and don't mess it up. The GPP looks good!

Yea, I'm trying to take care of the RCs. I wanted to do some chins tonight, but didn't want to risk hurtin anything.

Going about it smart - getting your groove going with lighter weights, moving up little by little. Killer rounds of crossfit.

Guido- Hahaha yea, the journal is a bit different than the last time you were here.

    Coke- Thanks man.

    Workout: G

    Location: Fear Systems

    BJJ-

We did the same thing in both classes. Worked A LOT of stand up. Punch combos and then some Thai kicks and knees. I ****in LOVE Thai kicks. Grappled pretty hard after class. Dominated a guy that used to come before I started there. Completely bypassed his guard and went into mount where I worked different things and then won by keylock. Rolled really hard with the best guy, other than the instructor. It was stalemated for the first 6-7 minutes but he finally won by choke. He couldn't stop talking about how good I did and how he was using everything he had. It felt good because I was working some pretty solid technique during all of it.
