Sweat sessions Chubrock. And I thought Risk10k had some crazy volume. This is just insane. I imagine your conditioning is pretty damn high.
Best way to cheat on deadlifts...

Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial

Didn't feel all that great today. Lacked the energy I usually have. Oh well, that's what I get for only getting about 5hrs of sleep.

    Comments:

Wow, the lack of energy really made this tough. One of the tougher workouts I've had in a long time. Pushed it hard. The workout took about 40min or so, maybe a bit more. The Turkish Getups were rough but I fought through them. Had a nice size jump in the huge Giant Set. Overall a solid way to end the KB sessions for the week.

    Drew- I love you too.

    Coke- Haha I'm hoping so.

    BJJ:

Nothing special tonight. Worked a lot of technique on Butterfly Guard stuff. A lot of sweeps. That's about it. Easy night.

Tomorrow I plan on hitting the gym for some more PLing oriented stuff. I've got some DE Bench, RE Sumo Deads, some squatting and some weighted chins planned. We'll see how I do.

    185lbs x 3
    225lbs x 3
    245lbs x 3

    Comments:

Overall a very solid day in the gym. Deads felt nice and light. Bench was fast. The chins surprised me. I haven't really done any weighted chins in probably 5 months or so. Was almost able to get 1.5 times BW. Actually managed more than the last time I did weighted chins, which is pretty amazing to me. Really says a lot about my KB training. The squats surprised me as well. Haven't squatted seriously in QUITE awhile. Managed more than 1.5xBW for 3 solid, deep reps. Overall a successful day in the gym.

Everybody checkout the videos and let me know whatcha think. I still need some pointers on my pulling so everybody chime in.

Mix- Yea yea, the first one was, the second one was shallow, that's why I called it x2(?)

Guido- Yesterday's workout took me a tad bit over an hour. I draw the heavy session out, as the workouts during the week are so fast paced and intense that I like to slow it down at the end of the week.

Alec- Haha trust me, I surprised myself. It wasn't a legit rep though, I was about eye level with the bar, so I had a couple of inches to go.

    Coke- Thanks bro.

nice job man.. I thought I'd stop by and check out your journal since I'm getting into MMA lately. As far as the Sumo's go, it looks like you've got your form down. Not entirely sure since it's a front shot, but it does look like you have good form as far as your back goes.

Form on the sumos looks good. However, when you set up, try to bring your hips back and lower your body to the bar rather then bending forward and grabbing the bar first. Just push your hips back while keeping your back arched and your hands down and squat down until you can grab the bar. Then immediately grab the par and pull back, you should get a lot more pop off the floor that way.

I agree with Drew's comments. However, it's kind of hard to tell how your form is from the front. A side shot would be more helpful in evaluating form on deads.

    Comments:

A small day set wise, but damn this was killer. We decided to have a day where we really killed the core, as there are several of us that are nursing injuries here and there. The Turkish Getups to Windmills with the 24s were run stuff. Wish I had a video of them. My head hurt the whole ****ing time but oh well. Core got really ****in pounded. Should def. feel it tomorrow.

    *Side Note*-

Damn near broke my index finger yesterday at paintball practice. I went sliding in and my index finger got caught and my hand rolled over it driving my index finger back and towards my forearm. I hoped it wasn't too bad but it stiffened up overnight and actually hurts worse today than yesterday.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

    Comments:

Pace was wide the hell open. Damn good workout tonight. I love these nights. My conditioning usually kicks in and I'm running fine while most people are running themselves in the ground. Strength felt great tonight. Knee had a slight twinge on the later rounds of BW squats but oh well. The Military Presses and Push Presses felt pretty strong. The BEAST felt good on the swings. Overall a much more conditioning oriented session as opposed to pure strength. Great session overall.

    BJJ:

Kid's class worked on some spider guard stuff, as did the adult's class. Rolled a lot tonight. Beat everybody I rolled with (2 blue belts and some white belts). There was one guy that was talking about my drop in weight to his class, and he stated that he was still going to be the "king of the 155 class." So, I did what any respectable person would do. I dominated him. It was ugly. I used a lot of triangles tonight. More than I ever have. I'm starting to feel pretty comfortable with them.

Sweet job with the BJJ. I wish I could roll more often this summer, but it's been pretty inconsistent. That's good that you're feeling comfortable with triangle chokes, I still need to work more on that stuff to get it down good. Haha.. king of the 155 weight class.. good to hear that you made him put his money where his mouth was and dominated.
