I just watched that ME bench video. Nice speed and a hell of an arch on that first set.

BUT... stop looking at the weight!! Stare straight up!

Bench looks solid. Only thing that stuck out to me was your shoulders, are they pulled back all the way?

Solid benching. Keep working on your leg drive + butt on the bench.

I like those band pull aparts!

Stumpy- Haha nothing impressive bro. I'd just say that you need to kick your hips back a bitmore on the RDLs.

KJ- Hahaha for real man. I gotta learn to break that habit.

Kev- I could probably pull them back a bit more. It feels like I'm flattening out a bit. I really need to strengthen my upper back some more, hence the pull aparts.

LK- Interestingly enough my ass isn't coming up until the lift is almost completed. You're right, I need to work on that.

I've got ME Lower coming up in just a bit. Probably do some Rack Pulls from 3" below my knees. Haven't pulled for a max from the rack in awhile. Should be fun.

Nice jobs chubs... I think you've got most of the critque down..
I would take a look at your DB/BB Rows.. your left hand form was much better then your right hand form.. looks like you tried to fix it before the last rep, but keep that back flat and head up.

    Happy New Year..

I definitely agree. My form with DBs is much better. I was more focused on trying to keep the BB balanced than I was about my back. My grip strength sucks ass and my hands are small, so balancing the BB was a bit more of a chore than I thought.

Felt pretty good going in. My right pec seems a bit tight like I almost pulled it and my right hammy is a bit tight, but overall nothing too bad.

    Workout: ME Lower

    Location: Home

    Weight: N/A

ME Rack Pulls (3" below knee)-

    135lbs x 5 (dbl oh)
    225lbs x 3 (dbl oh, really light)
275lbs x 3 (reverse DL, foot placement off)
315lbs x 1 (DL, better placement, really light)
365lbs x 1 (DL, pretty easy, little more speed needed)
385lbs x 1 (DL, let my shoulders round forward too much)
    415lbs x 1 (DL, +10lbs PR, ugly)
    425lbs x miss x 2

    GMs (Sumo)-

    45lbs x 10
    95lbs x 5
    135lbs x 3
    155lbs x 3

    Zerchers (from rack)-

    135lbs x 5
    185lbs x 3
    225lbs x 1
    245lbs x 1
275lbs x miss (rolled out of hands onto knee)
    275lbs x 1 (+20lbs PR)

    Banded Trunk Twist-

    #2 (closer) x 5/5
    #2 (6" from rack) x 5/5
    #2 (slightly closer) x 5/5
    #3 x 5/5

    Standing Band Crunch-

    2 #2s x 5
    #3 x 5
    2 #2s x 5 SS #3 x 5

    Rack Crunches-

    BW x 5
    BW x 5

    Comments:

Slightly dissappointed. Wanted more than a 10lbs PR on the Rack Pulls. My back started rounding way too much on both of the 425 sets, so I bailed out on each. The GMs could've gone much much better. It's been a good bit since I had done them and I can tell my form is way off. I stopped at 155 just to make sure I didn't do anything stupid. Decided to go heavy with some zerchers as well today. I've been doing them a lot lately, and really like the movement. Missed the 275 as I came out of the hole. Didn't hold my arms high enough and it ended up sliding out and banging my knee on the way down. I then proceeded to do what any sane person would. I racked the weight and then did a complete lift. Overall some decent stuff today, but I was looking for much more out of my Rack Pulls.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

Real nice benching. High rep CGBP are a great time, although they can be tiring as fack!

edit: I didn't even see the rack pulls at first, awesome PR!

In terms of the pec, that kind of thing happens when you pull heavy, you should be fine.

    Quality zerchers Chub.

Bear/Coke- I appreciate the kind words guys. Hopefully I can do something outstanding this year.

Today was the first workout of the New Year. I think I did a decent job setting a tone for the rest of 2007.

    Workout: DE Upper

    Location: Home

    Weight: N/A

    DE Bench (4 grip)-

    45lbs x 10 x 2 (WU)
    95lbs x 5 (WU)
135lbs x 3 (pretty decent speed, pretty good arch)
    135lbs x 3 (good speed, good arch)
    135lbs x 3 (good speed, great arch)
135lbs x 3 (good speed, arch feeling good)
135lbs x 3 (good speed, decent arch set too far back)
135lbs x 3 (decent speed and arch, setup on bench correct next time)
    135lbs x 3 (decent speed, great arch)
    135lbs x 3 (decent speed, great arch)

    Standing OH Press-

    45lbs x 10 (Locked Knees)
    65lbs x 10 (Locked Knees)
    75lbs x 10 (Locked Knees)
    115lbs x 10 (+10lbs, Push Press)

    Band Pull Aparts-

    #2 x 10
    #2 (closer) x 10
    #2 (closest) x 10

    Fat Bar DB Rows-

    50lbs x 10/10
    60lbs x 5/5
    70lbs x 5/5
    90lbs x 5/5 (reset after each rep)

    Yates Rows-

    135lbs x 10
    155lbs x 10
    155lbs x 10

    Chest Supported Band Rows-

    #2 x 10
    2 #2s 10
    #3 x 10
    #3 + #2 x 5 (+#2 band)

    Comments:

Very solid workout today. Went ahead and increased my weight on the DE Bench. Speed still felt solid. My arch was feeling dead on as well, so things are looking good on that. The OH Pressing felt pretty good. 115 felt kind've heavy when I pulled it off the rack, but I was still able to get 10 reps out of it. I made a Fat Bar out of a cheap Oly DB Handle I had laying around. Used a construction grade trash bag to make the initial bar thicker and then wrapped athletic tape around it. That made the bar pretty damn thick. I couldn't get my hand all the way around it, so my grip is definitely going to get worked. Everything felt pretty on today. Should have a good workout tomorrow as well.

The pressure is on for 2007!

For the chest supported band rows, did you just loop the bands in the power rack and lie on an incline bench belly down?

Stumpy- Thanks man. I just had the DB Handle laying around, so I figured I'd do something with it.

LK- I actually stand on one side of my rack and loop the bands around the other side. My rack is wide enough that that bands reach close to maximum tension.

    Coke- Haha thanks man.

I've DE Lower here in just a bit, and then going to play some football at 12. My forearms are burning like a mfer though. That fat bar destroyed em haha.

    Comments:

Decent day. The speed on the squats felt/looked good on film. Speed was there on those. DLs however were a bit slower than normal. Nothing bad, just didn't have my rhythm. Set up a poor man's GHR using my rack, but it was difficult on the tendons so I stopped after two sets. The rack cleans were set a bit high, so I didn't utilize my lowerbody that much. I've got a video or two so you can see but I'm waiting until later to upload them. Did some ab work and got out. Decent overall.

Have you tried GHR from the floor? With someone sitting on your calves/feet... just use some pillows under your knees...

Nice couple of workouts so far this yr...
I think you should be amazed by your progress so far.. and the trip you are on.. should be a good long strong ride!! Keep it up Chubs...

    Kev- Thanks man. Appreciate it.

Bear- We used to do that back in KBs. Unfortunately, I usually lift alone, so that isn't an option. I appreciate the support man.

Played nearly 3.5hrs of Flag Football today. I feel destroyed.
