Haha I honestly think I have 240-245 in me with a lift off on my CG, and probably 250-255 in me on my bench. Right now I'm having to set up and unrack myself which is wasting a lot of energy.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

    I'm the same way Stumpy.

Lifted today. I spent all day yesterday at a paintball tournament so I didn't get to see the inside of the gym. Mixed feelings about everything.

    Workout: ME Lower

    Location: Home

    Weight: 166.6lbs

    ME Reverse Band Deadlifts-

*Changed the position of the Blue Bands. I dropped them down about 6" per suggestions. This caused the full weight to hit very quickly in relation to last time I did this. The bands went slack about 2" above my knees. BIG difference.*

    135lbs x 5 (WU)
    225lbs x 3 (WU)
    275lbs x 3 (WU)
    315lbs x 1 (extremely fast, Double OH)
365lbs x 1 (fast but grip not strong enough for DBL OH)
405lbs x 1 (switched up setup, not bad, weight hitting early)
455lbs x 1 (complete deload at top of knee, tough)
465lbs x 1 (nice lift, nasty form, big grinder)

    Cleans (no squat)-

    45lbs x 8 (from hang)
95lbs x 3 (from floor here on out)
    115lbs x 3
    135lbs x 1
    145lbs x 1
    155lbs x 1
    165lbs x 1
    185lbs x miss

    Oly Squats-

    135lbs x 6
    185lbs x 6
    225lbs x 5

    Inverts-

    BW x 5
    BW x 5

    Plate Side Bends-

    45lbs x 10/10
    45lbs x 10/10

    Rack Crunches-

    #2 x 10
    #3 x 10
    #2 x 10/10 (rotation)
    #2 x 10/10 (rotation)

    Comments:

The new style of setup really made things tough. Didn't think it would have as big of an effect as it did. The weight hit me a lot sooner than I expected. Even though the numbers are 35lbs lighter than the last time, I feel like the 465 was a stronger lift than the 500. The cleans didn't go very well. I don't get enough practice in to make any kind of solid jumps. I'll have to train them for awhile to see any progress. I really feel like my training is stagnated right now. Maybe not so much my pressing, but my squatting and deadlifting aren't doing what I want them to. I feel like this is due to me going away from some of the things that worked. I feel like I might have started using too much variation. I'm going to go back to using what worked for me in the past, which will probably be SQing, DLing, some RDLs, the occasional Zercher and a lot of abs work. I think a lot of the variations and cleans and stuff are great, but I think I'm neglecting other things. I'm also not going to max with my DL or SQ for awhile. Going to go to some 3RM work and see how that goes.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

Big reverse band stuff, good setup getting the deload too. Sounds your a bit like me with being strong at the top and weak off the floor for deads.

I just started a 12 week sqaut cycle, as I've had a similar stall in my sq/dl and I'm going to be doing 3-5RM on ME day. Check it out on in the PL forum if you want to do something completely differant.

Just saw your post Risk. I'll have to take a look at it. I'm pretty good from right below the knees on up. If I can get it moving than I've yet to miss it. It's getting it up off the floor (without destroying my back) that's the problem.

    Coke- Appreciate it man.

Up this morning to train my sister. She's 5'2 or so and 100lbs dancer. Pulled 95lbs for 6 singles and Push Pressed 45lbs for a 5 x 4. Not bad for her 3rd session.

    Comments:

VERY good session today. Definitely made a comeback from last week's terrible DE day. I added some Icy Hot and some extra warmup sets. This really seemed to help my elbows. The speed felt pretty good today. Setup was pretty decent but could've been better. The 5x5 was definitely a PR for me. Last time I tried a 5x5 on flat bench I couldn't hit 185. I was able to hit it with a Close Grip today. Felt great. The chinnups were awesome. Really wanted to hit 18 on the last set but didn't happen. I could've easily hit 20+ on the first set. I'll probably try some high rep chins for awhile. Hit up some other back work at the end. Overall I'm very happy with the effort today. I feel rejuvenated and can definitely feel a bench PR coming along.

Sweet reverse bands, Chubs! Definitely have a strong top end on ya. I'm the opposite... I could probably yank 550 off the ground, but I have no top end. Thanks for reminding me to do some reverse bands.

BoB- Haha no problem man. Appreciate the kind words.

Bear- Yea I'm thinking I'm good for at least 250-255 right now. I'm pretty confident that I'll hit 275 raw at 165 by the end of August (my 21st).

Tried something different today with my DE workout. Not sure I'm getting much out of my DE squats so I'm going to go with some 5x5 stuff. I'll keep the DE DLs. The weight will still be light for a 5x5 as I do want to try and stay as explosive as possible, even with the higher reps.

    Workout: DE Lower

    Location: Home

    Weight: 166.6lbs

Low Box Squats (1-2" Below, used for height guide)-

    45lbs x 8 x 2 (WU)
    95lbs x 5 (WU)
    135lbs x 5
185lbs x 5 (definitely feeling the wide stance in my hips)
    225lbs x 5 (pretty good set)
    185lbs x 5 (could sitback more)
    135lbs x 5

    DE DLs (Platform, Chucks)-

    135lbs x 5 (WU, DBL OH)
    185lbs x 3 (WU, DBL OH)
235lbs x 1 (pretty good speed, stay more upright)
    235lbs x 1 (arch harder)
    235lbs x 1 (good speed)
    235lbs x 1 (not best speed)
    235lbs x 1 (pretty good set)
    235lbs x 1 (not bad)

    RDLs (off platform)-

    275lbs x 6 (+3 reps)
    275lbs x 8 (+5 reps)

    Inverts-

BW x 5 (slow, more controlled)
    BW x 5

    Rack Crunches-

    #2 x 10
    #2 x 10
    #3 x 10
    #3 x 10
    #2 x 10/10 (rotation)
    #2 x 10/10 (rotation)

    Band Trunk Twist-

    #2 closer x 10/10
    #2 closer x 10/10

    Comments:

I think I'm going to like the way this is setup. I finished the workout in under an hour so I had a pretty good pace going. The low box 5x5 really hit my hips. Wasn't that hard but I could definitely feel it. I think these will help my squat out more than the speed squats I was doing. The DLs felt pretty decent. I could've been a bit faster but they were bad. I've also got to figure out how to stay more upright but yet retain my speed. It seems that I have to drop too low to get a big arch. The RDLs were tough only because my hamstrings were absolutely toast. They felt good though and will definitely be staying in my split from here on. I did a lot of ab work today. I'll probably keep it in there since I feel like I've neglected it in the past. Great workout today. Very happy.

Can def understand the happiness. The workout sure merits some good feelings and its cool how you are tweaking some stuff. As I am still learning, I have absolutely no idea on what to do when it comes to changing things.

Overall everything looks great chub. You gonna start eating more anytime soon? Hasnt your weight been stagnant for a while?

Nice DE stuff. I did some on Saturday (shoulder presses and bench work mostly) and feel it's added a lot to my max effort work, as well.

Strong RBD! Instead of using the blues and having them cut out at the knee, why not use a lighter band like a green and only have it deload right at lockout?

Con- It's all about learning your body. After you spend more time lifting, you'll start to get a feel for what works, and what doesn't. As far as gaining weight, I am still trying. I'm still becoming a bit acclimated to being back home. I was used to having everything already cooked and set so it was easy as far as eating. No excuses though, just gotta get into a routine.

    Coke- Appreciate it man.

G- DE BP and DL seem to help my ME numbers, but I don't really feel the same way for my squatting.

Sid- I've only done RBDL twice now, so I'm still getting used to how they're set up. I actually kinda liked how I had them setup this time, so I may keep them that way.

LK- Haha nice. Yea I think I'll go away from DE squatting for awhile and see what's up.

    6000th POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Detard- Just saw this. Appreciate it man.

Had to bump my workout back to today. I'll be driving to Tenn on Friday and will have a tournament all weekend long.

    Workout: ME Upper

    Location: Home

    Weight: 166.6lbs

    ME Bench (Triples)-

    45lbs x 10 x 2 (WU)
    95lbs x 5 x 2 (WU)
135lbs x 3 (nice smooth reps, setup good)
155lbs x 3 (everythings feeling on, arch great)
185lbs x 1 (very efficient press, no energy wasted)
205lbs x 3 (good pressing, shifted right slightly, setup a bit better)
215lbs x 3 (steady pressing, more energy/speed, feels like PR to me)
    230lbs x 3 (+2 rep PR, first two great, 3rd SLOW literally 10 seconds)

    Chins-

    Muscle Up x fail x 2
    BW x 5 (MGPA)
    BW +45lbs x 3 (MGPI)
    BW +70lbs x 3 (MGPI)
    BW +75lbs x 3 (MGPI)
    BW +85lbs x 3 (+5lbs, nose to bar, MGPI)

    CGBP-

    135lbs x 5
    195lbs x 8 (+2 reps)
    135lbs x 19 (+2 reps)
    135lbs x 5

    Yates Rows (UH)-

    135lbs x 12
    135lbs x 12
    135lbs x 15
    135lbs x 15

    *RC WORK*

    Comments:

Pretty good way to hit my 6000th post. Hit a 2 rep PR on my benching. I really do think I'm good for 250+. The last rep was insanely slow. Did some pretty good stuff on my CGBP as well. The 195 was smooth as was the 19 reps at 135. I really wanted 20 but I know I would've crashed and burned haha. My ROM isn't good on my heaviest set of chins. I'm not worried about it though. It's obviously doing something decent for me. Since my ROM was cut down on the 85 set I hit up some high rep rows and really worked on squeezing at the top of the rep. They felt pretty good as well. Not too much to say about the workout but I really think it was a good session. Very happy with the effort today.

I can appreciate a good back shot, even from someone who powerlifts, but what's with the side chest pose? GHEY!!

Those chins are mind-blowing. It wasn't easy for me to do 5 last week with +35. I need some video.
