Awesome lifts man. Is the power rack up and running yet?

Also, I ran at the rec and saw Joe. I talked to him about joining up at CrossFit.

    Comments:

RCs absolutely destroyed me today. The weight wasn't really all that heavy but my elbows hurt something terrible. I've really got to get back to focusing on my RC work. My shoulder strength is pretty bad, that's why I threw in the PP instead of DE Bench. Overall decent at best.

    Weekly Weigh In: 179.4lbs

    Workout: DE Lower

    Location: Home Gym

DE SSB Box Squat (parallel, bar = 65lbs, weight listed as normal)-

    65lbs x 10
    95lbs x 5
    135lbs x 3
    135lbs + chains x 2

    Rack Pulls (sumo, 2nd pin)-

    45lbs x 10
    135lbs x 10
    185lbs x 3
    225lbs x 3
    225lbs + chains x 1
    275lbs x 1

    Abs

    Comments:

Pretty excited about this workout. The weights aren't anything all that great but it was promising to handle some heavier stuff with no back pain. The speed on the squatting was fairly decent. Took awhile to get used to the bar. Definitely a lot different than my Power Bar. The rack pulls felt pretty good. I figured that 275 would feel extremely heavy, but it didn't. I could've worked up a good bit higher but didn't want to push it.

Gotta keep it moving in that direction.

The plan is to keep it light this week leading up to the weekend when I'll head to SC to lift with HY. I'll probably run the WOD several days and then take Thursday or at least Friday off.

    Workout: Fran

    Location: CF Wilmington

    Weight: 179.4lbs

    CF Warmup

    Fran:

    21 Thrusters 95lbs
    21 Chins
    15 Trusters 95lbs
    15 Chins
    9 Thrusters 95lbs
    9 Chins

    Time- 5:50 (3:40 PR)

    Comments:

My strength level really helps me out during these WODs. My endurance is pretty bad, at least compared to what it used to be, but I was able to set a pretty good PR. I'm good for about 20 strict chins, but that obviously wasn't happening today. I walked through the first set of thrusters unbroken. Came off the bar once for the chins. The second round of thrusters was broken up once but the chins were broken up quite a bit. The last round of thrusters was unbroken but the chins were in sets of three. Very happy with this performance.

Maybe I shouldn't compare the two, but I'm going to. All I see are weights getting repped. What you may have worn to get that is of no consequence to me as far as I'm concerned.

    5 Pullups
    10 Pushups
    15 Squats

    Score: 14 complete rounds

    Comments-

Had originally planned to only work some light DLs but everybody in the gym was going heavy so I had to push it some. I think I might could've eeked out 335. I've lost a lot of strength with this back injury. My form feels solid and I had no pain at all in my lower back, which is a great sign. I'm just pretty pissed with the ****ty numbers. The Half Cindy was done at the end. I put up some pretty good numbers on that. The owner beat me by 1.5 rounds or so. Not bad for not doing this stuff very often.

Dude, that's a really, really good time for half Cindy. Nice work.

And I heard Jeren hit 455 on deadlift? Do I have the right guy? The dude that did the first heavy metcon with us?

Justin- Appreciate it man. Yea, you heard right. Jeren has a strong pull.

Roommates were doing the WOD so I just dicked around. Nothing going on. My OH squat sucks. I have the quad strength to squat a good bit but my shoulder flexibility blows.

    Lion- Haha for sure.

Ryuage- Jesus Steven, you destroyed Fran.

Went down to SC this weekend to train with HY. Worked up to and missed a 255 bench and hit a 425 squat with a stronger than normal spot from HY. Just happy to have some decent weight on my back though I'm pissed with how it went. The benching friggin blows. Definitely got to get better.

Took a day off yesterday and still felt like **** today. Blah.

    Workout: DE Upper

    Location: CF Wilmington

    Weight: 179.4lbs

DE Bench (foam roller under back for majority of sets)-

    45lbs x 10 x 2
    95lbs x 10, 3
    135lbs x 3
    155lbs x 3
    *In Old Blast*
    185lbs x 1 easy
    185lbs x 1 nice speed
    185lbs x 1 could be better
    *No Shirt*
    185lbs x 1 fairly decent
185lbs x 1 probably best rep all around

    Chins-

    BW x 5 x 3

    Comments:

I had to stop. My RCs are beat to **** and shooting pain all up and down my arms. I could barely hold onto the bar. I really need to stop neglecting my RC work. It's biting me in the ass. The plan is to stay under 90% of my openers for the next three weeks. Since it is my first official meet I'm drilling everything hard. Assistance work will be heavy but the comp lifts will stay under 90%. I'll pull from the floor tomorrow and that'll be the last time until mid March.

Well, I definitely didn't expect you to come back and hit a 425 on squat so quickly, so nice work. Stop ****ing around with the RC work now.

(and don't go overboard on RC work either ... I did that before and had serious problems for awhile)

Like I said, it was with an aggressive spot from Will but I'll take it.

    Workout: DE Lower

    Location: CF Wilmington

    Weight: 179.4lbs

DE DLs (old, loose Inzer Hardcore)-

    135lbs x 5 x 2
    185lbs x 3
    225lbs x 1
    225lbs x 1
    225lbs x 1
    255lbs x 1 (decent speed, 11 and 1)
    255lbs x 1 (nahhh, 10 and 2)
    255lbs x 1 (much better, back to 11 and 1)
    255lbs x 1 (pretty smooth)
    255lbs x 1 (feeling good)

"Rack" Pulls (two 35s stacked up, bar mid shin)-

    255lbs x 3
    275lbs x 3
    305lbs x 3
    325lbs x 3

    ABS

    Comments:

I'm very encouraged by this session. My speed wasn't blazing on the 255 sets but it felt pretty smooth. I should easily hit my 315 opener. For some assistance work, I stacked up two 35lbs bumpers and pulled off of them. It set the bar about mid shin. 325 is the most I've held in my hands in probably 3 months. While it wasn't light, it wasn't nearly as heavy as I had first imagined. Things are feeling pretty damn good.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.
