Brute- Haha nah not too heavy.

Justin- Ya act like that's a bad thing.

Lion- Yea you'll disappear for another two months fairly shortly.

Didn't lift yesterday. Couldn't make time. Excuse, I know.

    Workout: Lower #2

    Location: Home Gym

    Weight: ~174lbs

Rack Pulls (high, 2nd pin, below knee cap)-

    45lbs x 8
    135lbs x 8
    185lbs x 6
    225lbs x 3
    245lbs x 3
    275lbs x 2
    295lbs x 2
    315lbs x 2
    335lbs x 2
    355lbs x 2
    385lbs x 1 (actually pretty easy)

    Practice OH Squats

    Ab Work

    Comments:

Used a double OH grip up until 275. Used a mix grip opposite of my DL all the way until the last set. Worked low reps because it tends to screw with the back less when I'm not having to reset all the time. Back felt pretty strong today. I could've pulled probably 20lbs more than 385. I'm not too far off my best at that height. Good sign.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

    Appeciate it guys.

    Workout: Metcon

    Location: CF Wilmington

    Weight: ~174lbs

    5 rounds for time...

    10 wall ball shots (20 / 16)
    5 rope knees to elbows
    10 back extensions
    50 jump rope spins
6 one legged squats (3 each leg)
    15 push ups
    10 high pulls (55 / 35)
    50 flutter kicks
    100 meter run

    Time- 14:50

    Comments:

Top time on the board. Very surprised with this. My transitions were spot on. Very little wasted time there. That's the biggest reason for my good time. I'm doing WODs for the next couple of days. I'll be heading to SC to train with Homey this weekend and want to be pretty fresh when I get down there.

Do the lower reps not bother your back nearly as much as high reps, even if the weight is heavy? I know you've had back problems with symptoms similar to mine and I've noticed that the higher rep stuff definitley bothers me more. I'm feeling a lot better, even having pulled 485 with no pain at all last week but when I go for anything over 5 or 6 reps my back still tightens up like crazy, even if the weights low.

Higher rep pulling really messes with my back, even though with the singles and doubles I'm going heavier. I attribute this to having to reset multiple times between reps.

    Lots of back work

    Comments:

Pretty happy with the pressing up until the last set. Everything felt strong going along. The new, wider grip is what I need to be using, but I haven't been. I paid the price. Really gotta work on it.

    Comments:

Squatting went real well today. After I got into the groove things felt great. I'm pretty much back to where I was pre injury. I'll see how I feel after I pull heavy next time, but my back is feeling great.

nice pressing chubs, I would't be too dissapointed with the miss if you're working on a new grip.

Good work bro. I think you recalling your SC sessions taught me that intensity is everything with powerlifting once you become intermediate. Gotta keep that in mind every rep.

You're always welcome down here. Thanks for coming!

A few notes... I don't know if you keep them in your log or not but:

Treat every set the same. You have the tendency to just go through the motions on some of those earlier sets. Set up and form. Set up and form. It's not that you're total neglecting it but you could be a bit more intense on those early sets.

On the bench, you don't have to tuck quite so much. You're not in a denim shirt, lol. Your raw groove will be just a bit higher than it would be if you were in a shirt. Speed on the bench. You're too slow taking the weight down, both raw and in the shirt. Your descent needs to be much faster as you're losing too much energy on the way down.

In the squat, keep your upper back tighter. I think being able to move you hands in a little bit would help this so keep working on that shoulder flexibility. Also, keep thinking about minimizing the walkout. 2 steps is ideal or 3 max. It's taking so long to get set up you should already be squatting by the time you get ready to do so.

Those were the things the work on but you're already doing a lot of things correctly. Your set up on the bench is tight and your arch is good. The squat has lots of power and the form stays spot on. But as we know, it's the things that we need to work on that'll make us stronger.

Lets hope all this cardio doesn't ruin you, though.

Got some good, strong lifts in there with Will. How did the 275 feel without the bands after all those sets with them?

    Weight: ~177lbs

ME Bench (no spotter, new very wide grip)-

    45lbs x 10 x 2
    95lbs x 10
    135lbs x 3
    155lbs x 3
    185lbs x 1
    205lbs x 1
225lbs x 2 (descent is way to slow)
    225lbs x 2 (same thing)
    225lbs x 2 (second rep much better)

    Blast Strap Chins-

    BW x 8
    BW x 8
    BW + pink band x 5
    BW + 12lbs chains x 5
    BW + 12lbs chains x 5

    Strict OH Press-

    45lbs x 10
    65lbs x 5
    95lbs x 5
    105lbs x 5
    115lbs x 5

    Upper Back Work

    Comments-

This new grip is weak for me. I trust HomeY so I'll be sticking with it. I really think my shoulders are causing my bench to suck ass even more than normal. I have incredibly weak shoulders as I have been neglecting them for the last two years. I'll work on that.

thats not bad. gripping out wide on bench is different. just like it was different for me to squat out wide, but when i did, it got stronger

Yea, I'll just have to work on it.

    Workout: Depletion/MetCon

    Location: CHS Gym

    Weight: 173.6lbs

As Many Rounds As Possible in 20 minutes of-

    15 pullups
    30 pushups
    45 squats

    Score: 5 rounds + 15 pullups

    Comments:

As you can see I'm going to start using depletion workouts. I guess I should say I'm going to use some CF WODs as depletion work. I'm working on using UD2.0 while gaining weight. We'll see how things go. The pushups held me back although the pullups started going at the end. This was a lot tougher than Cindy even though it's a variation.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.
