The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Comments:

My DL is officially down the ****ter. First time I've pulled from the floor since the meet. The drop in weight and the lack of attention have destroyed what I had held onto. About the only good thing from this is the fact that my back held up great even though it was a long, slow pull. I WILL start putting more focus on my DL and BP and get them closer to my squat. This is ridiculous.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

Just for the record, when I ****ed around last summer, my deadlift went from 435 to missing 385 at the end of the summer -- and I was still doing heavy cleans and some pulling.

When you take that much time off a lift it's going to turn to ****. You'll jump up 50 lbs quick just from CNS adjustments on a lift like deadlift. Just do a max deadlift or a max rack pull every 10 days.

Despite your setback you have come a long way since starting this journal. Good work Chubrock.

Justin- Yea, I'm going to start focusing on it from now on.

    Crazy- Thanks man.

Cp- Haha I need to put on some size but am shooting to keep the fat gain to a minimum. I tend to respond fairly well to low carb work.

    Nick- I agree.

James- Stretching arms. Hmmm I'll have to try that.

    Workout: Depletion/Metcon #1

    Location: CF Wilmington

    Weight: ~174lbs

    10 Rounds for time of-

    12 Chinups
    12 Burpees

    Time: 24:41

    Comments-

This sucked. I didn't like it at all. I felt a bit off, a bit sluggish all day so I paced myself. Didn't really push it TOO hard. Took some water breaks which I never do but whateva. I hate burpees.

Lion- Haha gotta get in better condition as well. I'm still working on adding some size.

    Workout: Depletion/MetCon #2

    Location: CFW

    Weight: ~174lbs

    Fight Gone Bad-

3 Rounds, continuously running clock, 1 minute at each station, 1 minute rest at end of round-

    1 Rep = 1 Point
    1 Calorie = 1 Point

    Stations:

    20lbs Wall Ball Shot
    75lbs Sumo DL High Pull
    20" Box Jump
    75lbs Push Press
    Concept 2 Rower

    Score: 301 (+44pt PR)

    Comments-

Set a pretty good pace today. Didn't try and destroy each station. Stayed smooth and didn't try to rush things. My box jumps are finally a bit better, although they still suck.

It's hard work adding weight when your doing all that. You should turn this into an eating journal. You're pretty disciplined when it comes to working out. You need to start listing what you eat, so you can be held accountable for that now instead.

Good idea on checking out my macro breakdown. It's been awhile since I really looked at it. Here was today.

    Total: 1793
    Fat: 91 823 47%
    Sat: 30 267 15%
    Poly: 7 64 4%
    Mono: 11 100 6%
    Carbs: 51 182 10%
    Fiber: 5 0 0%
    Protein: 188 753 43%
    Alcohol: 0 0 0%

Bit too much fat today. I need to replace that extra meal of 1/4 ground beef with some Nitrean. Should be pretty decent then.
