The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

How you plan to gain weight eating so little? Eat some food d@mnit! lol Keep doing your training and bump up the cal's a little whenever your weight stops going up. I'm not saying jump up to 5000 calories right now. Start at some maintenance point and if you go 2 weeks without adding weight up the cal's 200 and eat at that level until you stop gaining weight and so on. All the work you're doing will keep you lean and fit. Plus there is the added benefit of becoming accustomed to your bigger body slowly.<--a bigger obstacle than most people think.

    Lion- Yea, we're lifting.

Crazy- Muscle Milk, especially chocolate PB is f'ing amazing.

Brute- I'm following UD2.0 for a bulk. Mon-Friday afternoon are low carb/calorie with some depletion work, Friday afternoon and Saturday are a huge carb load and then Sunday is maintenance. I've had such good success with the UD2.0 stuff in the past that I figured I'd give Lyle's recommendations for bulking a chance.

    Comments:

I hate squatting for anything more than a 5. It just sucks. Raw squatting sucks in general. With that said, the reps looked and felt pretty good today. The speed on my benching was pretty solid as well, even with the new wider grip. Overall a pretty solid session. Now comes the giant carb load.

Welp, I'm done eating for this carb load. I'm tired of eating. After 30hrs I've taken in somewhere in the neighborhood of 550-600 grams. I can calculate out up over 450 but there are a few things that I have no way of calculating other than guessing. Right now this is something like 9x the amount of carbs I'm used to. I'm bloated.

    Comments:

There wasn't any PRs but a pretty big jump in weight. My benching felt great. The descent was slow but faster than normal. The rack pulls went better than I could have hoped for. I pulled 405 wit plenty of room to spare. I think I could've given 425 a run which is close to my personal best. Looks like I might actually be getting stronger haha.

    15 Chins
    9 95lbs Thrusters
    9 Chins

    Time- 3:40 (53 second PR)

    100 GHR Situps
    100 Back Extensions

    For time

    Time- 10:02

    Comments:

Set a pretty sizable PR on my Fran. Just so it's clear, my Fran time isn't going to be counted at any CF competition. My chinups are fine but I don't press far enough behind me on the thrusters to be considered a "good" press by CF standards. I could care less. There's only one or two people that press to CF standards at the gym, so it's an even field. Until I decide to do some kind of competition where my press is called into play, I'm not worried about. It's serving my purpose just fine. Plus I had 7 free 30 round .223 magazines on the line. A buddy was going to give them to me if I finished sub 5:00 so I of course had to get ahold of them. It was good motivation. I'm not sure how they convinced me to double on the workouts. That wasn't smart but oh well haha. I'm happy with both times.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.
