Lion- About middle of the pack.

    Mase- Hahaha rrriiigghhhtt.

Weekly Weigh In: 173.8lbs. This is down almost two pounds. It HAS to be water weight. My diet was almost the exact same as last week and I only had a little extra cardio thrown in. I expected to not gain as much weight but didn't expect to lose this much. I'm guessing it is because some of my cardio came yesterday evening and I weigh in Friday mornings.

    Comments:

Nothing all that impressive. It's a tension workout. My hip flexors and groin are extremely tight right now. I'm not sure I'll be squatting heavy Sunday, but we'll have to see.

    Comments:

Actually a very good session. Not sure how my weight is sitting but the carb load went fairly well. I probably ended up getting a bit too much fat over the weekend but it'll be alright. I've finally starting to find the groove with this new bench grip. My ROM is shortened pretty decently with it and my shoulders are starting to get a good bit more comfortable. I probably could've hit 215 for 5 but no reason to risk missing a weight right now. The squatting felt pretty good considering my stance was a bit closer than I like. I can't push my stance out anymore because of the frame so I had to make do. With the closer stance I have a bit of slack in the briefs that I have a hard time drawing out. Overall a pretty good effort today. I'm happy with it.

Haha I saw that comment. That was pretty badass.

    Workout: Depletion/Metcon

    Location: CF Wilmington

    Weight: 173.8lbs

Max Reps, 3 minutes between sets:

    95lbs OH Squat
    Pullups
    Ring Dips

    First Round 10/29/15
    Second Round 11/25/13
    Third Round 14/21/11

    Total Reps: 149

    Comments:

This was a slower workout. My OH Squats suck ass, as do my ring dips. I don't ever train them and frankly try to avoid them. I didn't today. The only thing that carried my score was my pullups.

I'm going to go run with a couple of SF guys and then do my first open water swim. It's going to be around 500m ocean swim. Pray I don't drown.

Well I did my first ever open water swim. I haven't swam in probably 2yrs or so. I was stupid for doing this, but whatever. I swam with a Force Recon guy, PJ, and a Green Beret. The goal distance was about 800m in the ocean, which was of course a warmup for them. Me, however...I made it about 400-500m before having to swim towards shore and walk through chest deep water for about 50-100m before swimming again. I ended up swimming about 600-650m of the total distance. This SUCKED.

Because my clean form is pretty terrible, I decided not to do the WOD. Instead I had a buddy help me with my form. I did A LOT of sets.

Lion- Haha it sucked something awful.

    KJ- Thanks man.

Weekly Weigh In: 175.6lbs. Up from last week. I figured most of the loss was water weight so I made sure to stay hydrated after any work.

    Workout: Tension

    OH BB Walking Lunge-

    45lbs x 8/8
    65lbs x 8/8

    KB Walking Lunge-

    52lbs PS x 5/5

    Comments:

Fairly decent pressing today. My CG numbers are decent. I wanted 6 on the last set but lost tightness and didn't want to push it and miss the lift. The squatting was pretty decent. It was the first time I've ever squatted with KBs attached to bands. It was fairly hard to stay tight. The lunges really played with my lowerback. I could tell which side suffered the worst of the tear. Overall a decent session.

I was actually referencing my previous injury Conor. Anytime I do any work that doesn't involve a squared stance, I can feel my lowerback knot up on my "bad" side.

I was at the beach all day. I'm burnt and drained. Probably should've pushed this workout to another day. Didn't feel all that great.

    95lbs x 10
    135lbs x 3
    155lbs x 3
    185lbs x 3
    205lbs x 1
    225lbs x 3 (+1 rep PR)
    135lbs x 10 (legs up, CG)

1 Arm Hand Supported DB Rows-

    70s x 5/5
    80s x 5/5
    90s x 5/5

    Strict OH DB Press-

    50s x 5/5
    50s x 5/5

    Comments:

I just didn't really have anything. My carb load was blown yesterday because I was taking some law enforcement exams for 10hrs. That sucked. My left foot kept sliding on the DLs and I couldn't keep my footing. I think with some Stickum I would've been able to pull it. The sun took everything I had today. I'm just drained.

    Workout: Depletion/Metcon

    Location: CFW

    Weight: 175.6lbs

    WOD: 3 rounds for time...

    5 Tire flips (~300lbs tire)
    10 get down get ups
    20 push ups
    Waiters walk 100ft (plates 35-m/ 25-f)
    100 m Sprint
    broad jumps 100ft
    3 push press (135lbs - m / 95lbs - f)
    10 sledge hammer swings (5 left / 5 right)

    Time: 11:28

    Comments-

Not a bad performance today. The get down, get ups were what slowed me down. As did the broad jumps. The tire is fairly heavy but easily managable. I had the 3rd best time on the board when I left but there were a couple of people that will show up in the afternoon that might beat it. Overall a good effort.

    Tabata Hand Stand Pushups

    Comments-

This workout wasn't really what I was shooting for, but I enjoyed it anyhow. I got in there and ended up working out with a buddy. I should've come back later and did some higher rep work, and I still might. Haven't quite decided on that. The shoulder press was a definite grinder. If it hadn't been for everybody yelling, I would've missed it for sure. This was my first time doing HSPUs. They're tough. Overall a good session.

BCorn- They weren't done strict tabata. More like pound out 5, partner goes, back and forth like that.

Lion- Thanks man. I've been adding in extra shoulder work so we'll see.

Soooo every Wednesday the CF affiliate trains with a triathalon group down here. I decided to go out there today. I'm a dumb ass. Anything and everything that I suck at was done.

    This is how it went:

    8 x 100m sprint in soft sand
100m walking lunges in soft sand
1 mile run in soft sand
    ~250m swim

    That was the "warmup".

    Then:

    4 x 200m Sandbag Carry (80lbs) Superset 4 x ~2 minutes Sledgehammer Swings
    ~250m swim
    100m run
    25m one leg hops
    25 pushups
    15 burpees
    250m run in soft sand
200m walking lunges in soft sand

    **** me.

Actually a very good workout today. It was pretty hot in the garage. The speed on my benching was looking pretty good. My setup is coming along. I'm starting to get tighter on the bench and can really feel it in the lats. The squatting was good but tough as hell. I haven't tried anything with that many reps while in my briefs. Both sets were grueling. After that I didn't really have too much in me. The rest of the work was effective but not really heavy. Overall a good session.

Overall a pretty solid day for me. Ended up setting a PR with my new wider grip. I think the added shoulder work is starting to help. I felt much more solid during the press even though my descent was slow. The rack pulls felt good as well. I wasn't prepared mentally on the first attempt. After getting my mind right I came back and pulled it pretty smoothly. Overall a very good session for me.
