    Comments:

I had a feeling today wasn't going to be a great day. My left shoulder had given me some pretty rough times earlier in the week so I figured I might not even come close to a max. I'm going to have to take a week off of any heavy pressing and see how it goes. My left hamstring has been bothering me but I didn't have too much trouble. I think it held me back on the final sets but can't be sure. I know it was twinging and when the bar got away from me, I just didn't bother to fight it back in.

On another note, my body weight is pathetic. I thought I could make UD2.0 work on a bulk, but even while I increase calories I'm still dropping in weight. I'm sure some of it is water weight but it's screwing with my head. I think I'm going to have to go back to a traditional bulk.

    Comments:

I've never been able to get myself in a very strong position for pulling conventional, so that's why I pulled off the 35s. I need to build up my lower back but I'm not going to run the risk of ****ing something up. I'll keep it slow and steady and see what happens. The top portion of my sumo DL is still strong, so I'm hoping this lower back work will get me to the point where I can start moving some bigger weight.

I noticed a big difference between the POSE style running and traditional heel to toe running. Even I ran only a couple of minutes after the workout, I felt lighter on my feet. I'm going to continue to play with it and see how it goes.

The biggest things I can see after only trying it once, are that I'm not pulling myself across the ground. I'm literally planting my foot directly under my body and pushing off. I'm not looking to lift my bodyweight with each step so much as I'm looking to quickly pull the foot up. The less time in contact with the pavement the faster you are. I could see a big difference while switching back and forth between POSE and traditional heel toe. There are some decent vids on CF website if you want to check them out.

    Tricep Pushdowns-

    100lbs x 12
    120lbs x 10
    140lbs x 8
    150lbs x 8

    Comments:

Nice and heavy. I've relied on my tricep strength for far too long. My shoulders are extremely weak and I think that is the biggest thing holding my bench back. I WILL get them stronger. Looking to hit a 185lbs strict press by Christmas at the latest. The heavy rows felt good. My shoulders and triceps were almost shot by the time I got to pressing so the numbers weren't very good. I'm hoping to hit a very nice squat come Sunday. It feels good to be back hitting ME ****.

Solid Push pressing Chubrock. I have around the same bench press numbers as you and I too have recently realized my shoulders are very weak. I have been working them hard and my bench press has only gotten stronger.
By the way, how did you build your box? I saw a video of it am wondering how you made it.

I'm not sure if you know what lincoln logs are, but I used a similar concept when building the box. This is similar to how I laid it out, with the only difference being that I didn't notch any of the 2x4s. It took quite a bit of wood but it is damn sturdy.

Well, I got my rejection letter from the PD I was applying to. I made it past all the testing but apparently the Oral Review Board didn't like me all that much. Apparently they have a bunch of people with top notch resumes...Oh well, **** it. Everything happens for a reason. I'll just keep plugging away and land somewhere.

    Comments:

Well, the squatting wasn't bad at all. It is HOT outside and I think that took a toll on me. Around the 385 set I start feeling a good bit sluggish, tired and out of it. I tried to pull it together the best I could but to no avail. I was looking for a 425 squat today but it didn't happen. The effort was still there but the heat was working on me. Almost blacked out on the 315 for 8 set. That was brutal. Not a bad effort today.

Didn't do the third set of pulling. My lower back was starting to tighten up so I decided to forego the final set. I'm going to slowly but surely build up my lowerback strength. My strict pressing went pretty well. I actually came close to hitting 135 for 5. Just did miss the last rep. Overall a pretty good session.

I think I would DIE if I tried doing multiple 400m runs right now. I swear that's the toughest distance there is. It takes so much out of you.

Good luck with the police thing. I know what you mean about not wanting to do what you got your degree in for a career. I like my job, but sometimes I yearn to get a job where I'm not in an office all day. It sucks the life out of you sometimes, if you let it.

Appreciate it G. I need to get in much better shape. That time was like 5min off the leader.

    Comments:

Got in some pretty good pressing today. I'm pretty happy with this session. I hit my meet PR at about 10lbs less so all this time spent at CF must have me doing some decent recomp. This is the first time in 3 months I've been in the shirt. It fit pretty loose, especially in the way of bench shirts. Hopefully next time I get in the shirt I'll be about 10lbs heavier and hit something over 275. I'm pretty encouraged with the way 265 went even though I missed it. It came off my chest pretty quickly which leads me to believe this shoulder work is helping out. Just have to keep that up and not let my triceps get behind. Good stuff overall.

Pretty good assistance day today. My lowerback was pretty shot from last week so I skipped my ME session on Sunday and went to Front Squats instead of Conv Pulling today. Felt great. The FS was a PR simply because the last time I tried anything heavy my forearms gave out quickly. I've got a good bit more in me as soon as I can get a good rhythm with the close stance. The strict pressing felt pretty good. I just missed the 5th rep at the top. Overall a good day.

    Comments:

Didn't push myself very hard cardio wise. I'm not a fan at all of high rep DLs so I ended up reseting between every rep or so. Took my time with them. Better safe than sorry. The OH Pressing was alright. I tried not to Push Press any but I'm sure a handful were that way. The weighted chins were easy and the last two exercises went quick. Not a blazing time by any means but not too terribley bad.
