    Overall some decent pressing today. Wanted a 7th rep but got out of the groove and had to pull the last one back in. Not where it needs to be, but overall a lot better than in the past.

    The pulling went awesome tonight. I was actually very surprised. The weight isn't all that great but it's the best pulling I've had in a long time.

    The OH pressing went quite well tonight. Wasn't feeling all that great going in as I'd only had about 1K calories or so. Typically I'd have at least twice that amount before getting in to lift. Good stuff overall.

    The pressing went decently. I felt like absolute **** going in so I wasn't expecting much. I considered going to some singles after the PR but my shoulders were shot. I need to start doing a lot more running some I hit some intervals.

    I'm in Defensive Tactics at the moment. Spent 8hrs today getting my ass kicked. Have done more pushups and situps than I'd care to remember.

    Done with DT. Will get back into the gym tomorrow. Switching to a more CF-esque approach as I'm trying to make my way into the NCSHP academy.

    Times were slow and weights were light. It's been nearly 2 weeks since I've been in the gym and many many months since I've done "CF". I'm going to ease back into things this week before ramping up.

    WOD: For Time

    With a 2 person team, complete the total number of reps of splitting up the reps between teammates as needed. Both athletes can't perform work at the same time. Complete each exercise before starting the next.

    * Run 800 m (as a team)
    * 100 jumping pull ups
    * 40 Deadlifts (F-135/ M-225)
    * 60 box Jumps
    * 50 Push Press (F-65/M-95)
    * 10 Tire Flips
    * 60 Kettlebell Swings (F-16kg/ M-24)
    * 40 Burpees
    * 80 wall balls (F-16/ M-20)
    * 400 m run (as a team)

    Time: 20:24

    Comments:

    Not bad for being out of shape like I am. We were 7 seconds off the top time which is totally my fault. On the last run I started yacking about halfway in and stopped for a few seconds. Didn't think much of it but it turned out to be the difference.

    One of our buddies missed yesterday's workout, so two of us paired up with him and did the workout again. Because we had three people, we increased the reps by a factor of 1.5. Good workout again.

    Thanks man. As much as I'd like to just keep putting on weight and do nothing but powerlifting, my chosen profession won't allow it. I'm currently attempting to gain a spot in the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Academy. The NCSHP is considered one of the top agencies in the nation and is known for having an absolutely extreme academy. I've heard several Marines say that the Academy was more difficult than their boot camp. Because of this I've got to get into much better shape.

    I'm lazy. Are you doing crossfit steady or integrating it with your PL routines?

    I've just recently (last week) started back doing the CF workouts. My PLing will have to fall by the wayside for the time being. With that said, I plan on incorporating one heavy movement each session before doing the WODs. More than likely I'll cycle between BP, Mil Press, Squat and Pull.

    Thanks Justin. Good to see you back around.

    Did some varied distance interval work:

    800m
    400m
    200m (probably a bit longer)

    Times- 3:14/1:16/:38

    Some decent times. Not nearly as fast as they need to be, but they'll come down.

    Workout: Bench and WOD

    Location: CF Wilmington

    Weight: ~185lbs

    Bench (raw, comp grip)-

    45lbs x 20 x 2
    95lbs x 10
    135lbs x 3
    155lbs x 3
    185lbs x 3

    Chins-

    BW x 5
    BW x 5

    WOD-

    6 Rounds for time:

    5 Sumo DLs (185lbs)
    8 Strict Press (95lbs)

    Time- 7:45

    Easy 1 Mile Run- 7:50

    Comments:

    The bench was heaavvy. I could tell my body has become unaccustomed with the comp grip. This combined with the lack of arch or leg drive produced some very sub par pressing. This is also only the 3 or so time I've benched in several months. The benching taxed my shoulders so my time on the WOD was very slow. The DLs and first 3 rounds of pressing were easy but after that I hit a wall. I did an easy mile at the end.

    5 Chins (BW +35lbs)
    10 Push Press (95lbs)

    Time- 18:56

    Comments-

    Actually a pretty good effort all the way around. Even though it's pretty light, it was the heaviest front squatting I've done in awhile.

    Workout: Finding CGBP "max"

    Location: CF Wilmington

    Weight: ~185lbs

    CGBP (little arch or drive)-

    45lbs x 10 x 2
    95lbs x 10
    135lbs x 5
    155lbs x 3
    185lbs x 1
    205lbs x 1

    Chins-

    4 x 5

    Situps = 49/min

    Stretching

    Comments:

    Today was an active rest day. My body is beat to ****. I wanted to find my 1RM for CGBP so I can start a 5-3-1 esque rep pattern. I intentionally did it today so I'd be tired and the number would be lower than normal. It will allow me to continue out for several waves instead of stagnating too soon.

    Haha since I'm currently in Basic Law Enforcement Training, I don't put in very many hours at all in the office. I was lucky in that I prepared most of the stuff we needed well in advance. I'm typically up at 0630 and don't get back from training until close to 1700-1800hrs. I'm pulling just enough hours at the office to pay for gas and some food.

    95lbs x 10
    135lbs x 5
    145lbs x 3
    165lbs x 3
    185lbs x 6

    WOD-

    4 Rounds for time:

    12 jumping chins
    12 pushups

    Time- 1:22

    40 situps in 40 seconds

    1 Mile Run - 7:30

    Comments:

    Hit my benching numbers easy tonight, mainly because they're light. The WOD was very short and sweet. I'm trying to get a gauge of how fast I'm going to be able to go on the fitness test this coming Sunday. That's the reason for the 40 situps in 40 seconds. The mile run was at about 90%.
