Had another ART session this morning. Dunno if it's truly working or if it's mental, but today seems to be the first day in awhile I've been able to sit without tightening up.

    Workout: Beach WOD

    Location: Wrightsville Beach

    Weight: ~170lbs

    3 Rounds for time-

    Swim around pier (~100-125m)
    Sprint 50m
    10 KB Swings (24kg)
    Sprint 50m
10 Sandbag Clean and Jerk (50lbs)
    Sprint 100m
    20 Burpees
    30 Flutter Kicks (2 count)
    Walking Lunge 100m
    10 Sledgehammer Swings
    30 BW Squats
    20 Pushups
    Sprint 100m

    Time- 40:21

    Fast paced run ~.75-1 mile

    Comments:

Good workout today. The CF crew ran things, so there was much more short, sprint like stuff with all our gear thrown in. I finished about middle of the pack. Swimming slows me down quite a bit. Good stuff overall.

Did a slightly longer run today. 3.5 miles in the surf. Finished in 31:55. Not a great time but I paced it slowly on purpose. It was high tide so I spent the majority of my time sinkin' in the sand. Not really winded at the end. Ankles to beat to **** from all the shifting.

Pretty decent pressing today. Nothing extremely special. Grappled instead of running because of yesterday's workout. Overall good work.

Forgot to mention that I got my first bar muscle up. We grappled a place that also houses a gymnastics gym. After the girls left I jumped up on their high bar and was able to pound one out.

I would compete in one if I had the time. I'm actually training for the 126th Basic School. I'm off to be a North Carolina State Trooper on August 5th. They run their academy inline with the way Marine Bootcamp is run. Because of this, my PLing wasn't going to cut in and I switched gears in order to compensate for all the heavy endurance/anaerobic work we'll be doing.

    Haha for real.

    Workout: Beach WOD

    Location: Wrightsville Beach

    Weight: ~170lbs

2 Rounds to be done as a team-

*50lbs Sandbag to be carried through all stations, including the run. One bag per team.*

    .75 mile run
    40 sledgehammer swings (20/20)
    50m backwards run
    20 sandbag cleans (10/10)
    75m walking lunge
    40 burpees
    75m OH walking lunge
    20 kb swings (16kg)
    20 sandbag half moons

    Time- 37:22

    Comments:

Pretty good little workout today. Decided to pair up and do a partner workout. One boy and one girl to a team. We ended up grabbing the 50lbs bag instead of the 30lber. The girl on my team is in pretty good shape, but the bag was a bit much for her. I ended up doing the majority of the work. Overall a good time.

I start August 5th at 1pm. Less than two weeks now. My WODs as of late do seem to have been pretty long. I think it's because most of the shorter WODs I do require heavier weight and I've been quite careful to stay as close to 100% healthy as I can get.

Today should have been an off day, but my buddy wanted to run the Team WOD up at the gym.

    Team WOD For Time:

    400 m Relay Run
50 Reverse Wallball (20/14)- split reps
    30 Team Deadlift (225/135)
    30 Team Push Press (135/95)
    50 Pullups- split reps
100 Double Unders (300 regular spins)- split reps
50 Sandbag Cleans (50/30)- split reps
150 Sledge Hammer Swings- split reps
    20 Traveling Burpee's- each
    400m Team Run- FINISH TOGETHER

*Push Press and DL to be done on the same bar, at the same time. Everything else required one person to standby while the other did work.*

    Time-19:00

    Comments:

Top time on the board today. We pushed the pace pretty hard. Good strategy on pretty much everything. He had to pick up the slack when I couldn't get a good rhythm with my double unders. I was gagging up **** pretty much the entire last run. Good stuff all around.

Hamstrings are all locked up. Lower back is tight as hell, but in a good way. First time in a long time that I've been sore as hell muscle wise, but didn't feel like something in my back was out of wack. With that said, all the tightness made my run hell. Felt like I was running in sand the whole. Not a good stride at all, but apparently I pushed the pace pretty decently. Even still, it felt like I was running slow as ****.

    1.8 Mile Run (extended course)

    Time- 12:31 @ 6:57/mile pace (5 sec PR)

    Comments:

Somehow pulled out a small PR. Felt like I was going nowhere fast. Wonder what I would've run had a felt pretty decent. Oh well, I'll take it.

2.5 Mile Run at The Loop. 18:58. Not great. Not a PR. Temp was low 90s with a near 90% humidity. Definitely felt it on the last half.

I appreciate it Brian. I'm trying to come in as physically prepared as possible. With that said, the NCSHP has a reputation for running people in the ground. It's going to be tough either way.

Took today pretty much off. Just went in and ****ed around. Worked on bar muscle ups. I've gotten to the point where I can hit them pretty consistently. Feels good to be able to do it.

Put out as best as possible. It was hot as hell. Even with the fans running we were hitting 92F in the gym. Out on the road it was even hotter.
