The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Weekly Weigh In- 166lbs. Up 2lbs from last week.

    Food:

Meal 1- Nutri Grain Bar, Balance Bar, Cup of Milk

Meal 2- 2 Chicken Sandwiches, Roast Beef and Cheese Sandwich, 2 Cups of Milk

    Meal 3- Balance Bar, Peanuts

Meal 4- 2 Chicken Sandwiches, Cornish Game Hen, Boiled Potatos, 2 Cups of Milk

Meal 5- Balance Bar, Cup of Milk

    Workout-

    Lateral Raises-

    15s x 10
    20s x 5
    25s x 5
    30s x 5 (+.5rep)

    Overhead DB Press-

    35s x 10
    45s x 5
    50s x 5
    55s x 7 (+3 reps)
    55s x 7 (+2 reps)

    Light Squats-

    135lbs x 10
    185lbs x 5
    205lbs x 5
    215lbs x 5
    225lbs x 5

This was only a short workout. My knee was hurting, but I couldn't bring myself to not squat at all, so I did squats with less weight than usual. Shoulder portion of the session went very well. Though not perfect, the lateral raises were better than last week, and the overhead db presses were awesome. Though short, I felt the session had a good bit of intensity.

Looking good in here dude. Looks like you had a little "mental lull" about training there, but came out of it. Don't sweat it, I go through those every so often too.

Hmm good job on the PRs, by palms facing in are you referring to neutral/side grip?

Crippler- Hey man what's up? I think this is the first time you've come through these parts isn't it? Welcome to the journal, and to answer your question, "palms in" implies that it is a chinup instead of pullup. I just like to keep the headings in my log the same, so I only specify with "palms in" or "palms out."

Justin- Thanks big guy. I was pretty happy with the session, but I'm really looking forward to hitting 185 for 5 next session.

CoCoa- Thanks man. I agree. It gives me just that extra little bit more intensity over the next session.

As CC, yep. I'm sure I replied here once or twice back as AlterSh0ck/Shnoop, but I haven't been here in awhile.

Ryuage- Thanks man. You're still much stronger than me, but I'm trying.

Gimp- As am I my friend, as am I.

Soba- Thanks buddy. The Hammer Strength Low Rows are just a machine/lever type thing that I started using awhile back. You put weight onto these two pegs, sit down on the stool type thing, and basically pull from about knee height. It really seems to hit my lats pretty good.

CC- I see, I see, well just keep on comin' by every now and then. Nothing major happens in here, but sometimes something good comes around.
