The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

SW- HAHA don't let me get too much of a head start on ya buddy.

V- Why thank ya haha, and welcome to the journal.

    Stack- LOL Thanks man.

Guido- HAHA still ghetto fab huh.

    Food:

Meal 1- Balance Bar, Glass of Milk

Meal 2- Turkey, Roast Beef Sandwich, Turkey Sandwich, 3 Glasses of Milk

Meal 3- Turkey Sandwich, Roast Beef Sandwich, Egg Sandwich

Meal 4- Balance Bar, 2 Glasses of Milk

    Other:
    ETS
    Multi Vitamin

    Workout: Kick Andrew's Ass Day

Box Squats: *Done on box that's 3-4inches above parallel, same box as the one used on the heavy box squat days. All squats done with a pause and a rock back to disengage hip flexors.*

    115lbs x 10
    135lbs x 20
    185lbs x 20

    Put on Belt.

    205lbs x 20

Below Parallel Squats (Close to ATG):

    135lbs x 20
    155lbs x 20

Well, this workout was def. different. The high rep box squats really fried my lower back. The heaviest set was pretty difficult. Left my quads fatigue. The ATC squats at the end really layed into me. I friggin' loved em. Didn't get to puke lol, but still a pretty good session. Overall I'm pretty happy with today.

Stash- If only I was that lucky.

Guido- Haha yea, I'm perfectly fine. I'm tellin ya, this ETS works wonders.

Ryu- My lower back was feelin fried, so I figured better safe than sorry.

    Prune- Thanks man.

    SW- Thanks bro.

Cp- HAHA thanks man. I wouldn't have worn it though if it hadn't been for my lower back.

    Workout: 1st Day Back

*First day back after taking a month off. Decided to use relatively light weight and strict form.*

    Yates Rows:

    45lbs x 10
    95lbs x 5
    95lbs x 5
    115lbs x 5
    135lbs x 5
    155lbs x 5
    175lbs x 5

    Dips:

    BW x 8*
    BW x 10
    BW x 10

*Got worried because I thought I felt a twinge in my shoulder/chest area, so I cut the set short.

    Lateral Raises:

    10s x 10
    15s x 10
    20s x 5
    20s x 5

    Benchpress:

    45lbs x 10
    65lbs x 10
    95lbs x 5
    115lbs x 5
    135lbs x 5
    155lbs x 5
    155lbs x 5

Not a bad workout I suppose. Somethings I noticed: my back strength hasn't seemed to come down really any at all. The 175lbs felt pretty light and the form was very strict. Shoulder/Chest Strength has obviously come down. It may be due in part to the fact that I'm friggin scared of hurtin myself again. I'm just gonna try and ease into what I was doing before. Overall I'm pretty happy with today, not because of the light weight I used, but because I was actually able to do something.

I worked from 2-9:15 tonight and then went and worked out. Pretty tired, but I'll have some pretty good hours on my paycheck.

Nice comeback session man. I think it would be important for you to strengthen your rotator cuffs now; check out Blitzforce's journal for more info on that.

How did the 155 on bench feel? Maybe I'm benching more than you now! *sigh*, maybe.

Mitch- HAHA I know who Ron the Hedgehog Jeremy is. A buddy of mine didn't though. You do realize that you are actually probably a bit bigger than me now. I'm 5'11 at about 173 or so.

    Chomer- Thanks man.

Lil Franco- Squatmaster huh lol, I can handle that. I agree with ya on the session though. Instead of working out chest and back twice a week, I'm going to stay with once a week for awhile. Also no dips or shoulder work for awhile longer. I'll bench a little bit, and do back, because back hasn't seemed to hurt me at all. Other than that, I'll just do Bis and Tris on what was going to be my second chest session of the week.

    Food:

Meal 1- Balance Bar, Glass of Milk

Meal 2- Turkey, Chicken Wrap, Turkey Sandwich, 3 Glasses of Milk

Meal 3- Turkey Sandwich, Roast Beef Sandwich, Fruit Cup, Liter of Milk

Meal 4- Balance Bar, Glass of Milk

    Workout: Parallel Box Squats

*All squats done on the Parallel Box. These squats were done Touch-N-Go instead of with a pause. For that reason, I don't know about putting any increases in weight.*

    Squats:

    135lbs x 10
    155lbs x 10
    185lbs x 5
    205lbs x 5
    225lbs x 3
    245lbs x 3

    Put On Belt.

    275lbs x 2
    315lbs x 2 and 1 assisted (+1 rep and 1 assisted)

Squats felt strong today. During the initial sets my legs felt tight, but as I increased the weight I started to feel better and better. Most of the sets felt pretty damn light. On the final set my spotter touched my chest, but I didn't feel him pull up, so I don't think he helped me any at all, but I still marked it as an assisted rep. Intensity was dead on even though I lifted on ****ty sleep and earlier in the morning. Overall I was very happy with the session.

Quote of the Day: "One more, I've got another in me, come on, light weight bitch!"
