    sissy squats

    I heard somewhere that sissy squats were excellent for quad seperation on a cutting phase. And also a smith machine is the best equipment to perform them on. Anyone know the excact execution of this exercise?

    Sissy squats are just that.

    No go do some real squats.

    I think you squat normally except that you're on your 'tippy toes' like a dancer. Smith is good for it because it takes so much balance to perform, but I think that defeats the purpose.

    I like them for finishing off a leg wkout, leaves you with that lovely, 'can't walk' feeling
    half the time I have no idea what you're talking about. the other half, I'm not listening.

    Sissy squats are actually a very good exercise for the quads, but don't believe the crap that they will make your legs any more cut. The only way to do that (other than if you have almost no leg muscle and build the legs, then the increased muscle may make it look like you have increased your definition-- i.e. you will be able to see the muscle now) is to lose bodyfat. Sissy squats will work your quads very intensely, they are an excellent isolation exercise.
