I was talking to the trainer at the gym, and he said a study was just performed where the body can only handle 3ounces of protien which is about 30g of protien. Now, if i have more then 30 n hour its a waste, but would it be fine if i waited an hour and keep intaking 30g of protien n hour, say 3 hours in the morning, 2 hours at lunch and 2 hours during the night. 30g an hour. is that too much protien in one day to have ?

I think I would get sick 5 hours into the day if I was pushing 400 grams of Protein by noon.

5. yes but thats just capacity we're talkin about, im sayin its fine to eat more then one can of tuna an hour... an poor math skills are hurting us here

Really the body's ability to use protien fluxuates day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute...

10. Can he give you the reference to the study? That 30g magical number has been floating around for years.

11. I would love to see this study. I just did some searches on our college research site and came up with jack-squat, so have him print up this study for you.

13. study for yourself, if you see everything you eat going into the toilet, then it might be too much protein, otherwise you're fine. and if it is going in the toilet, scoop it back up and make another shake or its just a waste of protein.

17. I heard this before. its a fairly stubborn myth. its nonsense

18. Seems to get lower everytime I hear it...started at like 50, then it was 40 the next year, now it's 30.

19. Soon, if you eat any more than 5g of protein per sitting, you will die...but slowly.
