The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

If you're getting it strictly for cardio I would suggest getting one of the flash rather than the hard drive iPods. After running for a while my 20gig iPod tends to skip.

I use my ipod nano everytime I go to the gym, arm band with the wires tucked under my shirt and comming up the back of my neck. Never gets hung up. The Brittany Spears crap that Golds Gym broadcasting network plays all the time kills me.

I use the regular iPod with the armband. I don't like wearing it during tricep/bicep work though because I think it might restrict the blood a little. Last year I put the armband on my calf and had this remote/extension cord that would connect the headphones to my iPod at my waste. If you do this then have the cord go under your clothes so it doesn't get caught.

I have Sony earphones that stick in the ear and I love them, they cancel out noise pretty well and can give me some bass. The earphones that come with the iPod are horrible and were rattling within a week of the iPod's purchase.

Edit: Actually I think they're the earphones that Twilo linked.

I've got a 512 Shuffle. No moving parts, size of a pack of gum. There's no screen, but I'm used to it by now. I can drop it and it's too light to damage itself. Holds ~4 hours of music, and I never spend more than an hour or so working out, so it's great. Battery lasts much longer than a complete playthrough of songs. Not as shiny, but it gets the job done very well.

I don't know if anyone has suggested this, but I put the cord down my shirt and connect the headphones to my iPod in my pocket so it never interfers with what I am doing.

I cant get a decent workout without my baby. I always have it everytime im there and if it dies, I shead a tear, lift my head, gain my concentration back, and keep on goin.
Most of the time I keep the chord in my shirt if its going to get in the way but the only thing I dont like about this is that when I get sweaty, the chord will stick to my chest then when I lift my head it pulls and my ear phones will fall out. That pisses the hell out of me so ill keep them out if I can.

1GB Shuffle with the lanyard. Put it under my top shirt and run the headphones out the top.

Get earphones that fit. Some come with a variety of attachments to fit better.

Oooooh. That can be a problem, I guess. Have you tried buying pads for the earphones?

Is everyone brainwashed by Apple here?

IMO my Sony walkman beats the ipod hands down on sound quality, value for money, sturdiness and downright coolishness!

On the subject though, I put it in my pocket with the wires down my shirt so they dont get in the way.. works a charm.

No. I don't have a thing for Apple but I do like the look of th iPod, and I love the ease of iTunes. Hate the battery life on the player, though.

I thought about getting the Sony but I like the look of the iPod better and I like iTunes. I just bought chargers so that I have them everywhere I am (home, car, work) so that I can charge the damn thing when necessary.

I vote for selling it and buying something thatís not overpriced and is probably a better product. :P It amazes me what people will spend for a brand name but I suppose that is what drives the economy.

I've got a 30 gig video and I use Marware's convertable case... they make cases for all the iPods. Check them out, I highly recommend them. www.marware.com

Got a gift several years back, a Rio Nitrus (bought at BestBuy with a replacement policy). A year later I exchanged it for a Rio Carbon + replacement policy. Last year I exchanged the Rio Carbon for the iPod. Had to pay the price difference, $50. BestBuy no longer sells replacement policies, just extended care policies, so this is the last in the chain of great exchanges.
