I'm into planted aquariums (call me a geek)

    pretty sweet looking plant!
I ordered some for mom's birthday...

any other favorite quasi-exotic flowers/plants that you guys like?

There is a house on my way to the gym here in KOP that has one of the nicest gardens in front that I've ever seen.
Last summer they had it FULL of red stemmed and red leaved plants...its so odd to see plants in any other color than green .... and I had no idea there was such a variety of red stemmed/leaved plants out there! anyway, around oct they ripped everything out, completely...
    I was horrified...
looked like it must have been a few thousanad dollars worth of shrubs, plants, etc...

they did a bang up job for xmas so now I'm wondering if they will come back in force this summer and do a different color!

wish I had pics of last summer though!

These are some sweet flowers to

Not really a gardener, per say, more of a lawn man myself. Those blue poppies do look pretty sweet. I also have started a rose garden, I accidently dug up my finance's black eyed susans to plant the roses, because I thought the black eyed susans were weeds....just shows you how good of a gardener I am....

BTW the finance' was not to pleased!!! :o)

I am thinking to create a beautiful garden in my backyard. I just got a house and the whole back yard is for the taking .... I want to put and small pond with beautiful flowers and plants around, I also want to have a section were I will grow food, just for fun, here up north we have cold weather most of the time so it will be something that comes up only in summer.

I have no idea how to start designing my yard though,
