is it best to use water or milk in protein shakes?

That depends on your goals. If you are trying to gain weight then I would recommend you mix you shakes with whole milk (unless, of course, you are lactose intolerant).
For all other purposes, water is a good choice.

depends on what protein, if its straight whey ya it tastes better in milk if its a mrp usually water will do the trick without having it to thick. and like Chris said its all up to your goals.

Usually for the cream flavored whey's, such as vanilla or chocolate, mix it with milk. For the fruit flavored whey's mix them with water. That's for taste purposes only. Otherwise, all depends on what you're trying to do with your body!Originally Posted by Ğragons
Speaking from my bowels, results wise I don't think you would ever know the difference. I use water pwo. Only caue it sounds good, and drinks down quick. I would bet nobody here would notice the difference in there gains.
