The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    vomiting ques.

I got sick from the stomach. I think some food messed my stomach up. Anyways, i have been vomiting everything I ve eaten since yesterday. Today I went to the doc and got two shots. They said it was poisoning. How bad is it to vomit? I mean if i eat something now and then vomit wut I ate, does that mean the cals i ate went away or it doesn't matter if I vomit, the cals eaten will be still there, confusing huh? hoo well HELP!!

Some of the food you ate will already be digested, so you will get nutrients in. Still, I'd concentrate on getting better. Drink lots of fluids and rest up some.

thanks. But I just eat something and then throw up. I understand some foods are digested faster but how about the ones that r not. Anyways i don't think food could be digested in 2 minutes. I don't know if I am confusing you but my concern is if I should eat or not since everything I eat would be thrown up. Lets say I eat a 2000 cals meal and after 1 minute or two I vomit, does that means the 2000 cals are not im me anymore? hope you understand wut I am saying. It feels to bad being sick of the stomach. How bad is it to vomit, again? I am feeling better now with the shots I got but my stomach still hurts and I feel kind of dizzy.

if you can drink liquid maybe a protein shake wouldn't upset your stomach any more...not sure though.

Digestion begins in your mouth not your stomach. The moment you put food in your mouth is the moment your body begins to break it down and absorb it.

With that out of the way, I'm not saying force feed. I'm saying eat things that will settle your stomach, warm soup, etc. I'm also saying drink lots of fluids. Why? because you're puking them out. You're probably dehydrated. Don't be. That's easy to fix.

Are you taking anything to stabilize your stomach. A great anti-emetic is Emitrol. It's an over the counter drug. I think it's basically glucose. It's kept me from puking almost instantly after taking it.

So that means as soon as I put food in my mouth the calories would be already in me even if I vomit? correct me if i am wrong.

The doc. gave me two shots one for the pain and one for the infection. He also gave me some medicaments for the vomits and the infection. I drank some Pestobismol, i don't know if u have heard of it, but it suppose to stabilize ur stomach but as soon as I drank it I vomited all out. All I worry about is the food. I mean not eating as I used to for lets say a week would be horrible. I just want to get some calories from real meals that is why I am asking, if I vomit it won't really matter would it? the cals will be there even if i vomited. I keep asking the same cuz I haven't gotten any answer of wut I am asking. If I am annoying you, it is not my plan, I am just confused about the vomiting stuff. Thanks anyways.

if i were you i would let the body do what it does, your sick, the body is expelling everything you eat for a reason, and absorbtion does not take place until the small intestines, so your not getting the calories anyway, so dont force it on you, but do drink alot of water, you will slowly be able to eat foods in a while, but test yourself periodically to see if your able to eat yet.

Not all of them, but actually a higher proportion than you'd think. Part of me seems to remember 30%...but I may just be pulling that number out my ass. LOL. I do remember that it was a lot higher than you'd think.

    Almost forgot...glad you're feeling better!

Thanks. I still feel some pain in my stomach but it will go away soon. Do you think if i get sick again I should eat soups for the whole day or lets say 1, 2, or 3 plates of soups?

Hey there! I just wanted to say I feel much better now. I can EAT and it feels good to feel better. I was worried about the cals cuz in two days more I have a big soccer game and I ve been waiting for this game for the longest. I wanted to eat while I was sick ( im still sick but not as before) cuz i was worried I would loose energy but i didn't loose any energy( I was planning to do a carb load for 4 days but I got sick) I went to practice today and ran for 10 miles. everything was great except that my head hurt a bitt. Anyways thanks.

I did not drink that much soup though. My doctor told me that my recovery time would have been faster if I had eaten more soups. Just wondering, lets say I get sick again, and decide to eat soups for 3 days in a row or till I feel better, does that means my lunch and dinner should be soups, of course with vegetables and juices. Thanks.
