    8 weeks?

    ive heard alot of ppl mentioning '8 week cycles' now im new to weight lifting , hell i havent even started yet , im waiting to get back from portugal so im not paying for a month of gym membership that i wont be using , anyhow , what is an 8 week cycle ? why 8 weeks ?

    also all of the UD2 (Ultimate Diet 2.0) cycles are also 6-8 weeks in duration with a week to two week gaps of maintenance eating between the 8 week cycles.

    Generally you can bulk or cut for as long as you want. Most people bulk or cut until their target (gain 10lbs or lose 3% BF) are achieved. Sometimes the bulk or cut slows or becomes inefficient (gaining too much fat per lb of LBM on a bulk or a plateau of fatloss on a cut) and people may take a break to allow the body to just kinda chill at maintenance eating for a while.

    Your mileage may (and will) vary. There is a LOT of reading you can do on these boards for excelent information.
