    Need to identify muscle

    I have always had weak shoulders, and have been taking it easy on my shoulder.
    Yesterday during shoulder/trap/grip day, my shoulder L. started to burn, but not hurt.

    Now today sitting at my deskjob, my L armpit aches a little, and my back right behind my shoulder.

    Is this the Supraspinatus?

    It's cool, because I can always keep working my legs though, but bench press, and most shoulder lifts are out of the game.

    Could be many things.

    its in the right area for supraspinatus, but generally is high up on your shoulder blade. it initiates arm abduction. Deltoids pick up the pace after 15degrees or so. Shoulder pressing hammers lateral delt and supraspinatus. And either anterior or posterior delt too depending where you have the bar (infront or behind the head)

    Aches in the armpit could also be from infraspinatus (the muscle under supraspinatus) and teres major/minor, which are situated lower down the scapula. However these muscles dont play more than a stabilizing role in shoulder pressing.

    It will probably not even hurt tomorrow Stretch it out and massage the area for happy feelings.

    You know what...I think this is more of an ache that is from sitting in an office chair. Maybe it's more weakness, then something broken.

    Either way, shoulders are probably going to be the only muscle I don't max out. I'll keep lifting to help maintain proportions, but just won't be one of those guys with huge shoulders. maybe over time....

    you would SO know about it if you had even so much as a fracture.

    You will be fine in a day or so.

    hehehe, yeah.

    Today it feels more like just sore muscles from growth. I think some of the muscles around it are growing, therefore pulling on my shoulder muscles.

    My traps and lats have gotten a workout that my body hasn't ever experienced.
