The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    My first online journal...

I've been away from training for 1-1,5 months now because of an arm injury. God, it feels like ages... But now I'm back, more egeer (sp?) then ever to train.
But this time I won't purely train BB. My dream is to become a Navy Seal, so I have to change my traning plan and put in a lot of cardio in my workout, but I'll still train with weights to get a good upper body strenght (like Rock )

I've decided to create a online journal, so that you guys could take a look at it and hopefully come with helpful suggestions and tips.

    Thanks in advance

Okey this here is my new plan, feel free to come with suggestions and tips!

    Monday - BICEPS
Standing W-Z Bar 4 sets of 4-5 reps
Preacher Curl 3 sets of 6-8 reps
Pull ups as many as I can do

    Tuesday - REST

    Wednesday - CARDIO
Cycling/ jogging (depends on the weather) for 1 hour + or -

    Thursday - TRICEPS and CHEST
Incline bench 3 sets of 5-6 reps
Bench 3 sets of 5-6 reps
Dips 3 sets as many as I can

    Friday - REST

    Saturday - BACK
Pull ups 4 sets as many reps as I can
Chins 4 sets as many as I can
    Pulldown 3 sets of 8 -10 reps
Rowing 4 sets of 8-10 reps

    Sunday - CARDIO
    Cycling for 1 hour + or -

    So waht do you think???

PS. I really could need help with my diet!!!!

    Thanx

I've always gone to the gym with the conviction that I'll be the hardest working mother****er in the joint. Make that your credo, and hope we don't lift at the same place.

    I have several questions:

    Do you have legs?

Why are you not training them?

Why a day just for biceps?

    Why no direct shoulder work?

Why all the pullups and pulldowns?

Thing is, you have a decent plan there if you do the following:

    Drop all the bicep work.

Add a shoulder press on your Chest/tricep day

    Squat and SLDL.
    Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. At some point in your lifting career (assuming you're planning on getting reasonably strong and big), you're going to have to accept that most people think you are some kind of freak." -Sensei

Paul, I've posted this training program in the training forum a while back and I got a lot of suggestions and tips..

here is the improved one :

    Monday - LEGS
    Parallell squats 1set of 20reps
Leg press 1 set of 8-10reps
Leg extensions 1 set of 8-10reps
Leg curls 1 set of 8-10reps
Calf raises 1 set of 8-10reps

Tuesday - REST <---- I really need this rest day after THAT leg day...

    Wednesday - TRICEPS and CHEST
Bench 4 sets of 5-6 reps
Dips 3 sets as many as I can

    Thursday - CARDIO
Cycling/ jogging (depends on the weather) for 1 hour + or -

    Friday - REST

    Saturday - BACK and BICEPS
    - Back
Pull ups 3 sets as many reps as I can
Chins 3 sets as many as I can
Rowing 4 sets of 8-10 reps
    - Bicep
Preacher Curl w-Z bar 3 sets of 6-8 reps

    Sunday - CARDIO
    Cycling for 1 hour + or -

I haven't added deadlifts to my program because I think that I'm to young to do deadlifts. I'd rather wait a couple of years before doing a exercise which can be harmful to my back, if done incorrectly.

    what do you think?
