    In between excercises

Im currently on a HIT style routine lifting twice a week, 3 excercises each day. The excercises i use are deadlifts, front squats, bench/weighted dips, weighted chins, rows, and btw press. Each one is 1-2 sets to failure ( not counting warm up obviously. Also once a month ill throw 1-2 sets of barbell curls and cgbp for a little arm isolation work. I like this style of workout yet i also like to get into the gym more as a stress reliever. Does anyone have any ideas of any interesting excercises i could do two other days of the week that would work a large amount of my bodys muscle but not stress them to the point of interfering to bad with my main workouts. I would like it to be some type of functional lifts like a clean and press or something. Anyone have any good ideas? Thanks guys

yea i am adding in 2 days of cardio. But i was thinking along the lines of a full body movement. (ie clean and press or something along those lines) Something i could get a overall functional workout from while not going to failure. Thanks ryuage

You could try some GPP work ... Snatches and power cleans are great exercises and given the fact that I have never been sore from a single set or two to failure I doubt you will be remotely overtrained and should be ok doing olympic lifts, pull-ups, wthatever.

You can mix-in some light work with the clean from the floor followed by a press. This will work all of the major muscles and you can use very light weights to learn the movement. This sort of active rest can actually improve your other days. You can do a search on the net to find out how to properly perform the movement.

Just remember not to push yourself very hard with the movement.

thanks guys. Chris, i was reading one of your old journals a while back and i remember you did am excercise on your off day. It was a curl grip clean and press. I tried those and liked them a lot. I believe i will be using those 2 off days a week for maybe 4-5 sets without going to failure. Any tips on this excercise? Did you make it up yourself? Thanks for all your help
